I agree... Mumbai has been racist crowd. But I feel they only hate the poorer people... dark people ??? they find out somehow...
I dont want to mention which state they hate, but its one state in the middle of India... unfortunatley lot of labours come from there and Mumbai feels they are making their city bad....
Rediff is indulging us and we are just wasting our precious time to debate on that what one "Nanha- munna" Leader has said and whta is response one "Buddhe" Leader.

well just answer why is mumbai or maharastra the most cosmopolitan state city in india?..that should tell you about its people..and culture..theres a limit to everything..america dosent provide visas to uneducated people to migrate to their place..because the work they will do can be done by ordinary us citizens..similarly..we have welcomed everyone for more than 50 yrs..now its enough..develop rest of india..we do not wish to feel marginalised in our own land..besides the quality of life is gone down!! i dont like the northern netagiri and goondagiri either..we have nothing against the educated..they are welcome those who can afford to buy rent a place..other hutment dwellers are a strict no no..

well scripted but u shud accept that any metro city is experiencing the same problem, delhi residents refusing to rent out their rooms to non-delhi migrants, chennai folks hating the hindi people, bongs of kolkata no matter how much they breastbeat on their open-heartedness but when it comes to non-bengalis they shut the doors on their faces, and even worse you must accept even this has acquired religious overtones, a muslim will gladly rent a room to a hindu guy no matter if he/she is a student or working, but a hindu family will never rent a room to a PSU Bank/Govt. official muslim fellow (i faced the same problem in mumbai and kolkata), hence i wud request kalpana to look within ur heart and then complain.

Ohhh I have been to TN, not to Assam..... my experience in TN has been very nice. Very friendly people and I still have friends from TN. Madras is a culture capital I could say. Of course, politicians are the same whether its TN or Maharashtra or Delhi.

Dear Kalpana, Hi, I am Vikrant. I am born and bought up in Mumbai. I have worked with vaious organisations but have never found any discrimination by anyone towards me even though I am dark skinned. Neither my colleagues who are dark skinned have been discriminated at any point of time.
You have not cleared as to what was the discrimination. To blame the entire community just because a few did not like you or did not speak to you properly or did not cooperate with you is not correct.
The same would be the case with south Indians in Delhi and other cities of north India where there are clear cases of discrimination by a few, does that mean the all the people in north India are racist.
Let us all stop differentiating between ourselves and start fighting over petty issues, this is what the politicians want and we as responsible citizens should not fall into this trap.

Mumbai is by far the most accommodating of all the cities in India... this is quite evident from the number of people of different backgrounds (language / region / religion)staying in Mumbai... you name an indian community and it has its presence in mumbai... check out chennai / delhi / kolkata and to a great extent even bangalore (which is close to mumbai in diversity but still far enough) and then speak. If mumbai is racist then all india is racist it is as simple as that... dont go by the propoganda of some small time voice...over all Mumbai is microcosm of all India and it will remain the same....no matter what!!

It is really a pity that people think in such a manner....Mumbai or for that matter maharashtra is the most accomadating....Go to delhi and ask anyone for directions on the road and they will send you in wrong direction....Cum to mumba and ask for help and people will do it willingly...And don't start about chennai...people don't speak hindi to you at all although its regarded as a national language they look at you as if ur a alien r something....i guess no where u can find so much accomadating people...mumbai rocks and so does maharashtra......i pity people who can't see the gud side.

In india here real difference and problem is with rich and poors,there is too big barriers. first attack was on muslims,then went to christians,later went to sikhs now it going towards film-stars and one day i think one indian will hate other indian,where we are standing? no body is thinking of basic necessity of the people like food shelter ,water or decent job for next generation, or not a good road, showing a partiotism is to gain vote bank.still poor will be poor and rich will be rich,no govt have control over inflation.
I'd like to ask Raj What has he done for the Marathi Manoos?? He is building Malls, flats & Offices along with Manohar Joshi in Mumbai through their Kohinoor venture. How many Maharashtrians has he given job to, whether the jobs are given to 80% of local sons of soil? Whether he has reserved flats for the localites as he asks other people to do??
There is definetly a problem in Bombay but to solve this problem this is not the way, to beat the people who earn there leaving on the road. Afterall I wish to stat that most of our leader has done corruption and earn money and become "Big?" There is a shame to say even our Police eat money. If he want let him dare to change the constitution. Leaving in luxurious house, Raj Thakre is provoking Marathi people to beat the poor people. The bombay and it's richeness has been brought up by all the people including people who live on the road. If this is the only solution he thinks to resolve this problem, then let the Americans also do the same way. There is much room to provok Americans. Let them beat all Marathi people living in America becoz they eat the jobs of Americans and not becoz there is a shortage of manpower in America.Will that be acceptable to Raj Thakre as he wishes to creat the Maharastra wherein he want the President of America should visit maharastra as and when he comes to India to Visit. The leader should give the confidence to the Contrymen in a biggest disaster like Churchill did in second world war and not the fear to change the any negative situation . That is the leadership. He should have understand it by now as he belongs to a cultured familly.
