nanotechnology solution for alzheimer's disease

in u me aur hum it was shown kajol was suffering from alzheimer's, which many people are ignorant .

Nanowerk Spotlight) Alzheimer%u2019s disease (AD), a brain disorder named for German physician Alois Alzheimer who first described it in 1906, is a disease that destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Alzheimer%u2019s gets worse over time, and it is fatal. It is also the most common form of dementia. The latest estimate is that 26.6 million people were suffering from Alzheimer%u2019s disease worldwide in 2006, and this number will rise to 100 million by 2050 - 1 in 85 of the total population. The latest 2008 data for the US alone estimates that 5 million Americans have the disease, with an estimated increase to 11 to 16 million by 2050. Not only does Alzheimer's have no cure, even its cause is unknown (research has led to several theories that are still being investigated). The onset of AD is usually very slow and gradual and, since there is no test for it, there is no clear-cut line between normal age-related changes and warning signs. An absolute diagnosis of AD can only be determined during the examination of brain tissue, which is usually done during an autopsy (if you want to find out more - the Alzheimer's Association has a lot of information on its website). A recent report provides an overview of the promises that nanotechnology brings in research on diagnosis and therapy of AD.
In the absence of a cure %u2013 since Alzheimer's is a progressive dise

If you do more research in medical literature you probably will never find cases reported below the age of 30. most cases are diagnosed in individuals
over the age of 65 and relatively less in younger than 60 cases have been reported in 40's and 50's but very very rare. Kajol is only 28 in this movie and her disease progression is so rapid she seems to have gotten so worst in just 1 to 2 years and the description of the brain scan by her physician seems that of a person who has suffered from Alzheimer's for a period of time.Besides at her 25 wedding anniversary Kajol appears in good shape with her so called bonus days.

U Me Aur Hum a copy of a much better Hollywood Film
by Gautam Joshi on Apr 16, 2008 11:14 AM

I am just pasting the story of movie, The Notebook released in 2004. You might find it an interesting read: "An old man in a nursing home reads a story to an old woman each day. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun. They met one evening at a carnival many years ago. Allie's parents separate Noah and Allie. They disapprove of Noah's lack of wealth, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and becomes engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. In a local newspaper, Noah's picture catches Allie's eye. He is standing in front of a fully restored, 200 year old home. The article is filled with praise for his accomplishments. Allie's heart nearly bursts. The last time she saw this house it was a rotted decaying shamble. She stood enfolded in Noah's arms in the great entryway and listened to his plans to buy and restore this house. Just the way she wanted it. With her love for Noah still alive, the picture pulls at her heart. She has to go back, see if Noah is okay, and tell him about her marriage. They both think the echo deep in their hearts, the one that has lasted all these years, is not shared by the other. The cry they could not stifle..." See this movie instead...

Does not Deserve 3.5 stars - Only max 2 stars
by Gautam Joshi on Apr 16, 2008 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

This movie is low in quality in all departments. It story is taken from Hollywood movie "The Notebook" that too the story has been compressed in this movie, the Hollywood movie had more depth and better chemistry between actors. The direction was also not good. The song I dont even think I want to mention them! Also, the humor was low grade. Raja has completely misleading the readers here in my opinion. I suggest people to get a DVD of The Notebook and see what I am trying to say. If thats not possible, DON'T be tempted to see U Me Aur Hum.

I have watched all three movies, carefully: first 50 dates, The NOtebook (one of my all time favorites) and U me Aur Hum. All there are great, but they are not copy of each other at all. Watch U me aur hum and then decide. I am sure you will be surprised (pleasant) and shocked too because bollywood movie being handled with so much maturity and sensibilities. Its a good movie. Give Devgan, Kajol and the whole team some credit. They deserve it for the excellent job. The theme is similar, "Alzeheimer" no doubt, but they are still very different. I was in the same impresession as you are, but I am happy I watched the whole movie and I am sure this movie will be the gem in bollywood great movie list. Don't worry, its worth your time and money. Have fun.

the film is gud..

infact i know the story of a similar couple

they were happily married..but the guy was gud actually....and he loved his wife too.
however, things turned bad when the couple got into family way.
there was apprehension in the family, plus the old members of the family were very keen that they should have a baby boy.
As things went, the lady ultimately gave birth to a boy.
now they are happy
