I have been seeing their programmes for the last few weeks.Both Prashant and Amit have good voice and ofcourse the best of these two in the final will get the coveted prizes. But Sony must make sure that these two are further utilised for their programme and albums in future after the event has been won by one of them. The judges must reduce their dramas in the stage.

Agree with Nelson.
In singing, all Indian Idol finalist looks baby with chaddi in front of Voice of India contestants. Similarly, judgement is also not up to the mark. Judges comments do not match their standard and height. Udit and Alisha are good singers only. Javed Akhtar should be host in place of Mini or Hussain. For Alisha it is better to quit the show (Mam only shouting and praising selected contestants is not judgement). Anu Malikji, no comments on your judgment. But I would like to say pls watch voice of India.

Amit is having the best voice. Prashant is good though his pronunciation of hindi is not upto the mark. Having said that, Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa challenge is better than Indian Idol. All the finalists r having great voices and it is a treat to watch them and the judges.
Initially I have seen India Idol...But after 2/3 episode , I measure the Indian Idol qualities.....Jai saley India Idol lagtey hai...Inko judge karney baley...sabsey badey gadhey hai....Anu Malik and Javed Akhtar logo ke songs chura chura kar chair par bethey hai...Udit Narayan Comments means ..Ghadhey ke comment...bho bin pendi ka lota hai...uska koi stand nahi....Jutey Maro salo ko..logo ka time kharab kar rahey hai..

Amit is a best singer we all know that, so if amit is our next Indian idol then we will get best singer. Prashant also good but this point of time we want best singer not good singer.

Are yaar shaan khud hi besura hain.. I am also a bengali I know many people will be hurt. But this is really true. His father was a great singer "Late Manas Mukherjee". Abhijeet still cant come out of humming tome..
These people also started like this.. This Amit and Prashant both has got the god gifted sense. If somebody takes care of them then they can be real good singers. And FYI "Indian Idol" is not for Singing only. Its the total effect... "Voice of India" is for the singers only. And I agree that those singers are better as singers... SO.......Please dont try to find out the bad thing about anyone..Instead , look for the good thing.. And try to find out how a song is recorded in a studio and what happens to the same great singers on stage.... Its a long story....

I am not pointing to Singers..They are doing their job where they are good or bad singer ...But I am interogating to mentors...They are just making an episode ..they are not hunting the real talent.....
He has been consistently performing well. For a untrained singer, without classical music base, AMIT has got amazing grip over sur and taal. He has created moments on stage like Pehla Nasha, Nahsa yeh pyar ka Nasha, Jhoomroo, Kora Kagaz, Bulla ki jana..
Singer like Shaan are saying II Tope 2 is amaeture, Shaan was a amaeture too when he started. Hah!
Hope we get to hear more of him in the future. He has a superb Voice quality whcih needs classical training. AMIT Rocks. VOTE for AMIT.

Indian Idol is a Great money making drama, Revenue from sms's itself is Rs 7.5crores, apart from this it gets advertising revenues, film promotion revenues(john abraham and bipasha came for their film promotion), co-branding revenues((starting from tooth paste to soap). How much the winner is going to get only one crore sony contract and maruti sx4 car. Those two contestants are heroes now but after 23rd, nobody cares about them. This program is for sony not for promising singers, last two sony albums with winners are big flops thats enough to justify.

prashant is really singing well but if you will see the judges comment their weight is always more on amit so it is not justified but after all prashant will be the idol

Prashant ??? Sur hai na taal hai. In octaves he trembles and in low notes he falters. You will understand all these nuances if you are a classical singer.
None of these fellows have their voices of their own. They simply copy other singers.

AMIT has a fabulous voice. He is not a trained classical singer, but he will do wonder if trained..
Prashant is not good I agree. He should have been out, but is in due to regional Voting!

Zee's Sa re Ga ma is a much more better platform for the singers than Sony's indian Idols. It is just money making program for the company. Doesnt produce any quality singers

I don't agree with your assessment. Out of 6 or 8 handpicked singers by the Gharanas, only 2 or so singers per gharana had a decent voice.
Even though the overall quality of the 8 Zee finalists is better than the overall talent level in Indian Idol, however AMIT can stand up to ANY singer in Zee. He is the find of Indian music (not Idol or Zee only), and you'll mark my words after 10 years when he is going to sing most of your Bollywood songs.

dont forget amit couldnt even remember the lyrics of one of the songs he was supposed to sing. and plz get a hint of reality dude, this is FINALS and there shouldnt be any mistakes, just dont bring second thoughts on who is a better fighter as a finalist! hands down PRASHANT! althogh amit is a great singer, he took the gala round lightly- blame it on javed bipasha alisha, for pampering him like he is god! Guys take a look at reality, amit is talented but prashant is working 100 times more than amit to win this title, and hardwork pays!

who cares about lyrics boss? playback singing doesn't require you to memorise lyrics. It is all about a unique and pleasant voice which Amit has. No doubt Prashant is working hard, but he has his limitations. I just hope that Idol 3 doesn't end up like Idol 1 and 2 picking 2nd grade singers.
