S its really happy days, after a long time (years) i seen a movie thats also Telugu, that because of my wife n my friend. After Seeing the movie i felt Happy N remmember my Classmates of St Josephs High School,Trimulghery ( Prasad, Srinivas, Sridevi, Vijayshanti, praveen, sunil, david, Anoop etc..) I am writing theese names because i don't where they are, its almost 18 years i left them. I always miss them. skmore@rediffmail.com
Well Guys even though my mother tongue is Telugu I dont watch much of the Telugu movies mainly because there has been lack of creativity in Telugu films and they are highly unrealistic with lots of mindless voilence and vulgarity. But Shekhar Kammula is eth revolutionary director who had earlier shown his talent with movies like Anand and Godavari now even excelled his earlier mnovies with this college flick. Happy Days is one of the best tleugu movies ever made and I am sure it will revolutionise the Tollywood. What a movie!!!! I fell in love with the movie and even with the characters and songs which are melodious. I liked all the characters very well but my favoruite was Tyson and among females it was Madhu who was very cute and also beautiful. I sometimes feel that a girl like Madhu should come in my life. I can also say this movie ahs everything, comedy, drama, emotions, love and break ups, friendship and also action(which was very realistic according to situation not like the way it is usually shown in Telugu movies where hero bashes up 50 men) The acting of all newcomers is exceptionally good.
I FEEL THAT HAPPY DAYS CAN BECOME DIL CHAHTA HAI OF TELUGU CINEMA.

oh come on people.....whats wrong with everyone? this movie is really irritating...shekar tried to make a telugu movie which shud look decent and simple...but this movie is very irritating....this is not a typical movie...and it doesnt even remind me of my college days....there are very good movies made in the past about college life in the campus....but this one is not even close to any of the previous ones.... first of all the casting is very very bad. there is no make up for any artist so they all looked ulgy and dirty....maybe shekar tried to make it look natural but there shud be atleast some make up to make the actors look natural rather than make them look ugly....and all these new comers had not done that great...they looked hesitating. no free movement or free dialogues deliveries. no punch in the romance part in the beginning. there was another movie made few months ago in which sunil and sumanth were the actors...i forgot the name of that movie but that movie was really good....better than happy days....
I happened to c the movie yes'day, that too on insistence of my son who is in senior Inter. Within 5-7 minutes of viewing, I felt that I am viewing my own self on screen, not just in one character but various shades of all the characteristics somewhere or other resembled my good old days. I am not that old though to call myself an oldie. The father-daughter relationship that looks like friendship is always there at my home too. My son said he saw my character in the film in quite a few scenes.
Having said this, I would like to add a few more lines - the other side of the coin. And I really wish Shekhar reads into it along with his die-hard fans. There are three points %u2013 One is: I saw lot many boys and girls mingle out very well off late, which is just friendship and nothing more. Some of them, I repeat only SOME of them may turn into love, but not all the cases as shown in film which may mislead the student community. Secondly: The saddest part of the film is its pathetic ending, where emotions of departing are not given importance. I still remember, when I left my degree college, the emotions were at peak. One of my lecturers who was very strict at study was in tears. Sadly this part is missing in the film. And finally, I saw that Shekhar dedicated this film to his teachers in the titles. But....

Contd... the teacher-student relation, which is the backbone of this subject, is not at all given its due. If these important factors too were taken care, then the film would have been a master piece and an all time evergreen movie of Indian cinema.
However, not taking away the film%u2019s neat presentation and not taking away the credit for giving us such a wonderful movie, I wish these above mentioned facts too were included in the movie. When I saw %u201CPrema Desam%u201D the dubbed version of %u201CKadal Desam%u201D, I felt that the movie was just aimed at youth and not for the students, though that is a different plot. But now I feel happy at least Shekhar has come very very closer to the subject. I wish him all the best in his future projects. Shekhar is a sensible director.
