Legal notice to Shah Rukh Khan - No Smoking
by vincent nazareth on Oct 27, 2007 11:44 AM

Shame. Shame. Shame. Mr Salkar of Note.

Why are you not giving legal notice to Me John Abraham who has smoked more than 75 cigarettes in his film No Smoking, which has been media partnered by Cancer Patients Association, an NGO of which NOTE is a member.

It is really sad that Government is not taking action people smoking in the public places such as Government Offices, stadiums, High Courts, railway stations, picture houses, etc.

Someone said we should not object to people smoking. Yes if you want to smoke (i) please smoke in your own house and ii)if you want so smoke then please inhale the smoke

This so called NOTE is a fool. It is his personal habit. When he is doing that in a place (Was that place banned smoking officially???) Why did u people peep in and click the photo. Infact now SRK should file a case against these people for intruding into the privacy. Indian NGO are nothing but a bunch of fools. Insted that go and protest for those getting killed all across the country by terrorists and equally dangerous politicians from all parties. Bas..tard..s

you are right rama prasad. every body have their independent choices in India. nobody can stop none for doing anything. I know smoking is not good. but in every 3 person 2 is smoking so why everybody is behind bollywood. i mean normal people who are not famous also smokes. nobody like this NGO stopped them then why SRK. if they really want to stop everybody smoking then just banned cigarretes, cigars, gutkhas which makes life dangerous and then talk all these things. this is my advice to u.

Dear Archana it is because SRK is a celebrity. He%u2019s a crowd behind him and most of the guys and girls want to follow everything what he does. You are right that everybody has its personal life but because of his popularity he but everybody who has a special image in public should avoid smoking and such kind of acts that affects badly on youth in public place, nothing else. I%u2019m too a big fan of SRK but just think if you or I smoke in public place, nobody will notice us but if any superstar, politician and a sports person do so, they will be noticed by everyone. What you say?

Wow.. Nice reply M. Naveen. Yes u r 100% right. They are not up to live their life Coz.. they are celebreties. And what ever they do their fans are following them. So its not much good to do in public places and I think when they are celebreties and having such huge fan following they should take care of what they are doing....

Smoking in Public
by Kaushik Basu on Oct 27, 2007 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

There is a problem in India, it makes rules as in Western countries but does not provide facility to cover it. In many western countries smoking in public places is banned, but almost all public places have smoking zones.

A heavy smoker, if is not allowed to smoke for a very long period, can develop nausia and head ache and restlessness. At least I have it. I therefore during long flights have to use tobacco patches. Anyway, I think if there would have been a smoking zone, this problem would not have taken place.

i second that.
And on that behalf many who are accused of such acts, are let out unconditionally.
this really get on me, even if we plan to force the rule, it just hits back.

I agree.....
Smoking is banned at some public places.. but there are some smoke zones in the those public places... for instance smoking is banned at airports, but there are smoking zones where you could smoke..
Also.. by making smoke zones doesnot mean that, smoking is promoted.. It just means that the nonsmokers are isolated and not affected by the smokers..
Sometimes even in Football games , at the stadium smoking is allowed...
So my opinion about it is... Make rules but also support it with the infrastructure...

Its just not about law about banning smoking in public places.. but also about other laws...
