I would not even dream of watching a movie with such a dirty name. If a man cannot be (more creative)less ugly in naming a film how can he make a less rotten movie.

Movie is a crap with bunch of good actors.
Now Yash craze is over people have understood that they don't have anything new to deliver, movies N'n'N, VZ, and many more s-h-it given by taklu yash and his family. I think yash uncle is frustrated with audiences over not appreciating their movie, and he has taken a revenge making this movie.

Indian viewers are losing their roots
by jatin kapoor on Oct 25, 2007 10:31 PM  | Hide replies

I liked the movie.....90% of people writing a comment,i bet haven't seen the movie and speaking nonsence.I guess, first of all the reviews came out bad and then its a woman oriented subject...people didn't go to watch.I watched it and liked it....and i don't know why Indians don't understand their roots and the people in England do.LCMD is doing fabulous business in UK.I guess people in India are getting westernised....waiting to look for lot of exposure with all those kinky minds. Its really a shame that guys wait for a movie like Hawas and julie and what not,but can't appreciate a well directed sensitive plot.LCMD might not be HIT in India but its already Hit overseas....ao overall the movie made profit

I agree with you. In UK and USA it made decent money.

US and UK markets have a different audience than the Indian market. So it is by no means a yardstick of a films popularity. And what is this nonsense of a women-oriented subject? That women "choose" to take up prostitution after failure to find good jobs? Just because it has Rani Mukherjee and Konkona Sen-Sharma doesnt make it a serious subject.

I think the Western World has long enjoyed the exotic voyuer shows of Shot-yo-jit-Roi and his documentaries of abject poverty and desperation.
I am glad Indian cinema is over this typical bengali scene, 1 man rocking back and forth on a chair, reading a paper, smoking a pipe, and a lone fan CREAKING occasionally for musical effect, and after 15 minutes of silence, a sulking wife draws her pallu and asks if he will have Tea. Then again 15 minutes of silence, and then a visual outside the balcony of traffic on Kolkatta streets, trams and cycle rickshaws jostling about, cacophony, and then, again, back to the "Badi"...silence! and rocking chair, creaking fan, and puffs of cigarette. Thats Bengali cinema for you.

I am not a bengali but can't stop myself commenting on this...whoever you r Mr or Ms ssbmat.....when the world has recognised Satyajit Ray as one of the greatest filmaker ever....who are you to judge such a stature??If you look into his movies carefully, apart from the story....they way is projected things and played with the camera plus the cinematic vision is still highly appreciated...so shut ur mouth and once in for all...try to appreciate rather than critisizing

jatin kapoor, it looks like you dont know anything about cinema. it shows from the way you write in such vague terms.Just because the "western" world gave Ray a passing honor with a Lifetime oscar (post-mortem), doesnt mean that his cinema was great. The same western world also praised Deepa Mehta for her Fire, which was one of the stupidest movies..and not because of its theme, mind you..but it was purely meant to thril the voyeur. I am glad Deepa Mehta had her a#$ shipped out of Varanasi during the Water shooting.
