amitabh bachan saar gets award for best salesman for selling cadbury's chocolate and navrathna oil.
TN state film awards dont even have the standard of filmfare awards.Award for Jyothika and Rajini. What abt RajKiran in Thavamaai Thavamirunthu.Best story award for tirupathi.Noaward for vikram in anniyan, not for Dhanush in puthupettu. It shows the lack of standard in giving award. The jury should not conider a remake (chandhramukhi ) for award.Jyothika's acting in that movie was the greatest comedy of the year.Let her go and watch shobhana's performance.Rajini himself will admit that hisperformance dont deserve an award,After all in many scenec he waas copying mohanlal. Jeeva's performance in E,Ram was great (no award for him) The Low standard tamil commercial films(with few exceptions like movies from cheran, selvaraghavan,Bala)award has low standard criterion. No wonder

these awards are given to publizize the image of TN govt.. those who feel that they dont deserve the award should prompltly reject them..
What does these award mean? Cash award/Citation, a party after the presenations, etc., Does this mean anything to the downtrodden and the needy. The money wasted on these movie stars for these awards could have been better used by the politicos for slum improvement/better hospital facilities, etc.,
I am not questioning the acting or other theatrical abilities of any of these actors. But for a minute stay back and think out - these guy are paid in crores for their movies and in turn what have they done for the poor.
If Mr. Karuna really wants to achieve something in his lifetime (although in 85 years of his life, he has done nothing for others), let him atleast spend the last few years of his life in creating a goodwill among the downtrodden and the needy.

I don't really understand, why everybody who is earning more is expected to do something for the poor, ALWAYS???????
Helping the poor is a good thing to do in life, and there is no doubt in it. How do you expect to help the poor? Give them food daily or new clothes once in a month?
Kamal and Rajni, actually do a lot of Charity work, which they do not generally publicize. They cannot give ALL their earning to poor, can they? They pay taxes in crores, and that is what they can do.
We as Indian Citizens should pay all our taxes, and with which the Government should provide them opportunities to live their OWN life, and NOT helping them by feeding food and clothes.
You people have just over showered Rajnikant with the stardom. He is not worth a shit. On the other hand Kamaal Hassan is a good talented acotr which I agree to.

Surprised to see u acepted people like amithab, sunil dutt, rajesh khanna! r they good for anything?
Isn't it wonderful if Indian Govt run by congress and supported by the Communists, award Bharat Ratna to Dalai Lama. US government is awarding him the highest American civilian award. India, being the largest democracy in the world and Dalai Lama actually lives in India. I appreciate if communists and cogresswallas reply to this posting. I don't think China can do much about it as they are about to host Olympics. May be Rajni next year :)

Dalai lama has a comfortable lif in India, living here. We do not grudge it. But Bharatratna? You pseudo-intellectuals may not agree, but MGR, who was beloved of the people, who was incorruptible, who had really love for the poor, and the commoner, did deserve Bharatratna, if anybody did.

And why not? Has he not entertained the common masses of India for the past twenty years?
