SRK stopped being an actor after Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa... After that he became a businessman... he's got the same wares... people who want the same wares are never disappointed... You never go to an SRK movie expecting something new or different... that's Aamir's forte... Having said that, SRK did prove that the actor in him is not dead yet, with Swades... But that's about it... The businessman in him won't allow him to experiment any further... Ironically, he showed that himself in the Awards sequence in OSO (same song sequence with different names of the films) That's ok i guess, as long as he is comfortable with the idea.

Your analysis is right on. He is excellent marketing skills but that is about it. He is money but not whole lot of talent. He has Laxami but not Saraswati. He is driven by wealth but not by talent.

I don't know whether the figures they show in terms of collection r true or made up ones.I saw OSO this sunday(Exactly 1 week after it's release)in a multiplex in Bangalore & there were hardly any audience in the theatre.Infact,there were more people standing in queue for Chak de than OSO.If a film can't run for 2 weeks successfully,how can the movie makers say that it's a blockbuster.
SO, my question is if OSO is blockbuster,then wht is Chak de.A maha blockbuster,i donno.

Mr. Rahul Ojha, I'm neither an SRK hater nor SRK lover. U r right when u speak about the water scene in Swades. It was the ultimate scene. I totally agree with u.
But the other hard truth is that Shahrukh has acted well in only two films till date - Swades & Chake De India. Rest all his films are not worth mentioning. He overacts too much each and every time. His fame today is not due to his talent (which is very very limited) but only due to over-hype by media & his immense luck. He is the most luckiest guy in Indian cinema.

Yes Mr Yatin.. SRK has no talent, he bought all the media, infact he buys all his cinema hall tickets to make them hit! Dude give yourself a reality check: Go to google . com / trends. over there type SRK's name and compare his popularity. Now you'll say he about a muti billion company like google too..! See its ok if you dont like SRK's acting. Everybody has their own choice and is totally entitled to it. But at the same time SRK is a guy whom millions in India adore. Another proof--> Go to orkut.. Total fan strength of various SRK fan communities is over 5 lakhs. Thats twice of any other celebrity in India. You dont like him, dont see his movies. But for the majority of us Indian Cinema Lovers -- HE IS THE KING.. A SELF MADE MAN WHO STRUGGLE IN HIS LIFE AND MADE IT BIG, ACHIEVED SUCCESS WITHOUT A GODFATHER.... As the proverb says -- " Fortune favors the brave" So if SRK has had any luck in his life he has deserved every bit of it...

Yes I never said that he doesnt deserve it. I totally agree that fortune favours the brave. I never argued the fact that millions adore him, that is for everyone to see. As for popularity, SRK thrives only on media hype, but acting wise he is far behind others.
Actually there is no point in arguing over who is a better actor than whom. Bcoz if u r an SRK fan (which is obvious), u r gonna support him no matter what, for u he is the best. Similarly I'm an Amitabh & Aamir fan, so I'll always hold them ahead of SRK anytime.
For u and other SRK lovers, he may be the KING, but for me and millions of others Amitabh & Aamir are the EMPERORS.

Bang on.. See my point is that every actor has there own individuality. And we should respect it. SRK could have probably never done a SARFAROSH(Aamir was superb in it), similarly AAmir could probably not have never done a DDLJ or a Kal Ho Naa Ho) I like 4 actors of them --SRK, Aamir, Big B (The biggest legend till date, ALTHOUGH his association with amar singh is a disgrace to such a gr8 man) and lastly Akshay Kumar. All of them are superb in their own arena and we should just sit back and enjoy and be entertained. And ya.. Its Ok to have our own favorites. But what is important is that our criticism should be constructive and not for the sake of running down people... cheers

i think u was in koma when srk did Dar refused by aamir and ajay, bazigar,anjam, khkn,chamatkar, ddlj, swedesh,chakde. all r different from each other.if amir is a good better actor than srk why cant he accept "dar"

no, i had read amirs interview after dar release and amir explanation was that in the last scene suny beat the srk , it was not acceptabe to him. amir was scared abt sunny deol whos last release was ghayal. amir thought sunny will over shadow him. bacche jab tu chaddi pe ghumta tha tab se hum sab hi actors ki movies dekh rahe hai.u r saying amir refused dar bcoz it was bakwas so what u can say about jawani jindabad,ishk, atank hi atank, raja hindustani,mann,fanna.
