Let me tell you, people saw 'Water' not for John Abraham - but mainly because of the story base (societal issues), Ms. Deepa Mehta, an esteemed world renowned film director, promoters from Canadian production, and the infamous publicity attached to it because of prior contrversies about the film. Mr. John Abraham is far from carrying the load of a succesful film on his own shoulders not yet in India, let alone US or Europe. Congratulations once again to Rediff for making us read this dismal editorial which had such a catchy title. Nice going.

Totally wrong Mr. Noone or may be SRK. If water was a hit John deserves every credit. If OSO made some money why will srk get credit. Why not farah khan? Why not the Diwali festival?
Hey guys, its been a tradition comparing stars based on their performance in one movie. Every actor or actress have their own acting potentials, some do best in particular roles not in other. Both SRK had john have proved themselves as talented bollywood stars. In my opinion rediff is wasting space for comparison between established stars, it would be better if they post some interesting achievements in their lives, Might help others inspiration.

Ok Mr. SAPA. Why was EARTH and WATER did not make so much money...or NAMESAKE?? Because WEST does not like to see a film where the hero looks like a monkey.
SRK forgets, he is what he is because of older actors like Manoj Kumar, Nargis, Raj Kapoor etc., He should respect his elder actors first, instead he insults our own Mr. India Manoj Kumar, who is Jewel of Mumabi. SRK needs some education how to respect elders.

ooh my god what a funny role was that of Mr mk in oso its was really really good comedy n mr mk doesnt need to react so much for it...as all the actors n actress were vry vry sporty n speciallu akshay kumar and bappi da....really funny movie oso

many comic actors made fun of funny MK. Manoj was a histroy and people already forgot him, why Farah showed his scene in OSO and made his name in news again. Manoj is a Paki shiv-sainik
The title of the article is misleading and absolutely crap. Water has grossed $5M not because of Johny but the movie itself, a celluloid, thought provoking, critically acclaimed movie directed by the talented Deepa Mehta who gave superb classy movies like Fire and earth. SRK is a self made man, the only brand actor of Bolywood... good or bad films, lousy or strong storyline, positive or negative roles..he has proved himself in all block busters. Johny is a good model and a good actor but definitely not a brand to charm the world thru his finesse performance and calibre. Arthur change the title. SRK is still the king!!

Cmon... SRK is a mediocre actor.... On acting front John is much better than SRK.... none of his films run becoz of him.. tell me a single SRK film without a big and talented directors like Chopras and gowariakar which made a hit on Box office. We all know SRK do not have anything of its own.. he is just good at coping others....

why shiv sainiks are jealous of SRK though he gives charity to Bal Thakrey to keep his shiv sainiks mouth shut. Hindi film industry made hell of a hefty revenue because of SRK and SRK proved to very benefitted to India then why sainiks r against him. Don't judge ART or SPORTs by unfairness.

SRK is an entertainer not an actor. But I agree the title should be : "OSO can't beat Water" but then you and I wouldnt have clicked on the link (cheap trick by rediff). I am losing trust in rediff's headlines and they are losing their credibility.

He is a good entertainer but very lousy actor. indian people care about cheap thrills and stupid jokes. All the good movies with substance fail in India like Manorama Six Feet Under and Blue Umbrella. SRK would not have survived in NOrth American market with his substandard crativity and acting.

I don't think that there is a standard formula for a movie to be declared as blockbuster,hit or a flop.In my opinion if a moview is able to recover its cost and is able to provide its distributor with some profit then it should be a hit.If these profits are huge then a movie should be a blockuster.But if it doesn't recover its cost then it should be a flop. On the basis of these criteria I think it is safe to assume that OSO has been a hit,if not a blockbuster.

I still don't understand how come OSO is a blockbuster ? They spent between 5 and 10 crore after the publicity only and the production cost was about 40 Crore. Rights were sold at wealthy 75 Crore. OSO has managed to collect 27 Crores in India and around 20 crore overseas still not beating 75 Crore. How come the movie is BB ? These all news and articles are bought by SRK or Farha Khan.

SRK is mocked all the time. Most kids in India can do an haklata hua high pitched SRK impression in their sleep....:-. Pretty pathetic that people consider him a good actor...and I bet he wont be remembered as such.
Om santhi Om is a foolish Movie.... Bhool Bhulayya is the best for 2007.Akshay Kumar is real superstar in Bollywoood(But Priyadarshan should direct him :).

hahaha Kahan SRK and Kahan gangutaeli ops Akshay. Dont get me wrong Akshay is a good actor. but can we count the results of both the actors. who has given more hits than flops.. I guess.. u guys will have the answer. accept the results and if you cant .. then suck it up. coz thats the fact.
