After reading Mr. Raja Sen' review, I was curious to know how other reviews are. I have read one by IANS in yahoo india news/entertainment section and the rating for "GOAL" is **1/2. The heading for that review is 'Goal' a spectacular tale of sportsmanship.
I don't agree with Mr. Raja Sen that there is no racism in english football. Just to understand that, watch couple of EPL matches and one can see that when non-white players are involved in a tackle, the match officials are very quick to blow the visil.
Don't take the view of just 1 person. I have decided to watch the movie, and will go for it within the next couple days. Even if it is not a great film, it's ok. Most of the films we watch are not that great.

Yeah, I can tell you're an expert on English football and England in general, especially since you can't spell "whistle". I understand it's a hard word, but hears a hint "W" and "V" are two different letters in English with two different sounds.
Mr. Raja Sen..... what do you expect out of an "entertaining" sports theme based movie. An Oscar winning script and performances. C'mon...gimme a break..... appreciate the fact that the director has tried something good. I watched the movie just now and trust me guys... its not a bad attempt. Although the supporting cast of players should have been a little bit in better SHAPE to digest the heroics shown. But, the football choreography is top notch. John, Boman, Arshad have played their roles sincerely. All n all, a good entertainer to spend your 3 hrs rather than reading Mr. Sen's review. Rediff.... please get hold of some better critique. So for me....the movie gets 7 out of 10.
