The underlined fact, here is : Kamal Haasan is much better than Al Pacino. It might sound funny for u as you have'nt watched Kamal's movies. Why Kamal? I would say Sivaji Ganesan or Amitabh Bachchan is a better performer than Al Pacino. Indians always think their actors are not as good as hollywood stars. You just check the number of movies and the range of characters our stars have done. I can even recommend some stellar performances of Kamal like Salangai Oli, Anbey Sivam, Appu Raja, Nayagan, Mahanadhi etc... Al Pacino is more popular than Kamal because he is in hollywood. And still they crib about the lack of quality. Plus the factor of budget. Our ppl dont get the required budget. Take for instance Hey Ram, the "natural voice" recording technology used by Kamal there is used by a few around the world. We are there and will in all probability take over Hollywood in the next 5-10 yrs conservatively. As far as Kamal's acting skills. He is no doubt a legend. Kamal has made(and is still making) all types of movies -> thrillers, comedies, historicals, action adventures, family dramas...what not? India was 200 yrs behind in movie making. If you take the Universal Studios Tour in Los Angeles, they will tell you that only one place makes more movies than Univesral studos and that is Bollywood. Your ignorance and exposure to India's stand is movie industry is apalling. Our art is apprciate across the board beyond satyajit ray. By saying 'Only Satyajit ray...' you have blantantly exposed your ignorance. Sad. Regarding Comparing actors I think it is more appropriate to compare individual traits than absolute comparison.
