Again Stupid case
by kunal kamble on May 16, 2007 12:41 PM

The Supreme Court has stayed all proceedings against actor Shilpa Shetty in cases regarding the incident where Hollywood actor Richard Gere kissed her in public.

Shilpa's lawyer Anand Grover said that the stay applies to all the cases -- three that are pending and two that have been filed recently -- against Shilpa.

Shilpa's lawyer sought relief in the case that states Shilpa would be arrested as soon as she showed up at any airport. The Court asked them to file a petition and said that they would look into it. No date for deliberation has been put forward so far.

What culture you are talking about!!!

People in India are talking about this kiss (which was not a kiss to begin with, just many pecks on cheek) as if its a murder!! And what "indian culture" you are talking about? When thousands of women get raped, where are these people raising their voices? When Innocent children are abused, physically and sexually on the railway platforms, on the traffic signals and in the slums, where are these so called "warriors of indian culture"?? When dalits are being exploited where do these mouthpiece of indian culture go??
Indian culture is about tolerance, peace, love and non-violence, please don't act like Talibans and radical Islam, and name it "Indian Culture"
PS. Indian culture did not get tarnish by Khajuraho and KamaSutra, how can it get tarnished by Shilpa-Gere peck!!!????

If my adult legally able to vote and make her decision )sister doesn't mind kiss someone, who am I to tell?? Its not a personal issue man...Its just how Indians waste tax payers money, time and court's valuable time in stupid, non issues, that pisses me off! I am not commenting on anyone's private life or family. And its hypocrite people like you, who can say things to my sister (you just said), and talk about "indian culture". First look into ur heart, then talk about our culture!

Hello Rakesh,
Yeah. Now you know the world.

I wasn't interested in doing it(peck on anyone sister) either. But just to know the reaction(anger), I asked him about it. See you got angry and that is why the issue(shilpa) is in court. Someone who didn't like the peck took it to the court.

Moron is your family and co. Happy to hear that??? I don't think so. So am I when you said that above.

I guess now you would know what kinda language people like.

Stop your stupidity. Tell us one incident which didn't get punished when it was caught on Camera. If it didn't get punished it shows the inability of the lawyer who faught the case.

Some fool thought that it is an indecent behaviour and it is in the courts. They know what is permitted as per the law and it will take its course. Till then hold your emotions to urself.

The courts will decide on her. Everyone when in India needs to abide by the law of the land.

Even though her kiss is nothing which required punishment but if the law is against such acts, she may be warned or Fined.

Kareena-Shahid kissing wasn't done in public. As you may have seen, our culture(may not be great) doesn't do any such things in public. All behind the scenes . So is why our population has gotten out of control as they get together inside the closed walls to spit into the tunnel of love without having time to worry about the contraceptives.

Mr. Inder jit, nobody is behind shilpa.
She is just doing all these for cheap publicity.
She very well knows that there are some hardliners in the country which will be outraged if she kisses on stage and hence all the drama. If you go thro' supremem court's saying,it clearly says that this is a delibarately done for cheap publicity and hence warrant against her, not for kissing anybody.
Few years back she was kicked out of bollywood, but recently in BigBrother show she accidently got huge publicity and her career started from again, she's trying same thing here.

Firstly get your facts straight! SHE did not kiss Richard Gere. It was Richard who kissed her! So on what grounds can one slap a lawsuit against her?

Btw how can you be so sure that it was all staged? Were you a part of this conspiracy yourself?

shilpa again
by upjeet singh on May 15, 2007 07:12 PM  | Hide replies

our's is a country of religious belief & what shilpa & gere did on stage was absolutly wrong as it is clear that gere was getting hot after touching shilpa's hand & after that he forcibly hugged her & kissed her which was bad as they were on AIDS mission & not on kissing mission. So atleast our LAW shud take gud serious action in this regard.

It will be good if Supreme Court alone take up this case, so these shameless people will not get any chance to appeal further.

Supreme court has done the right job, this type of cases are not worthy enough for hearing, who will kiss whom is nobody's business,we wre not in the middle age,so we have to be open minded.many indian maintain their rituals and customs in different european countries without being sued,so there is no wrong in the GERE'S act,it is the custom of his society and he has the right to practice if SHILPA accpeted graciously.when shilpa feels she is not ashamed,so we should not poke our ugly nose in this case.BUT along with this shilpa should refrain fromk making such type of publicity drama what she had done in BIG BROTHER SHOW.
