if the police and so called moral people in this country want to do something they should be ensuring that they file PIL's for corruption, nepostism, and dignified way of indians living in all parts of country, u dont have water, electricity, health, education, facilities, and the media is absolutley silent on these issue, we have rallied behind jessica lal's case but we can't rally for our own living in india, It's a SHAME for all of us

Hi Apurv I really like your thinking and we all being Indian should come out from the poverty. We should think on the betterment of the country but such kind of buddies like shilpa shetty. they need money that it. they have to earn it by this or that way. leave it becaust its the usual work for such kind of buddies. we indian feel ashamed when the shilpa was in the arms of bloody richard and he was kissing her sweetly. If shilpa has ashamed she should die in a litte water.

People have lot of time to waste...
by Alok Brahmbhatt on May 15, 2007 04:36 PM

People have so much free time; it seems that police, public and every other agency involved in this has so much time to spend on silly things because they have done lot of work for soiciety. There are many issues still prevailing around us which really need attenstion but people want to spend their time in pointless discussins and filing case to seek publicity. Actually they don't have moral values that they keep on harassing public and celebs.

leena we were forgetting things committed by many in the past. in the recent times indian law and people started reacting to various issues without any fear in their minds and hearts. infact i strongly feel that its the time for indian people and law to straighten the system and people. its not against any one this agitation but its against the behaviour of people. so shilpa and richard are equally responsible and also should be brought to justice so that no one else would commit this kind of mistake.

we keep seeing in news about fake encounters, murders etc we feel really shamed to face the people when are in abroad. i and my fellow indians in abroad are certainly proud of being an indian but when this kind of issues takes place and when it is known to all other nationals its so shamefull. politicians, celebrities must behave properly so that we dont get to hear from others.

hope system becomes more stronger and punish the culprits irrespective of their social status.

If you gave a innocent peck on the cheek of your lady friend and the same appeared in local newspaper should a case be filed against you? Grow up guys!! Being proud to be an Indian? You people do not know the meaning of being an Indian. Is Indianness so cheap? Americans are not afraid of being human beings. Why are the so called Indians afraid of being a Human Being?

I don't understand the mentality of some moral police, don't want to understand and will never understand. Why are these people entertained in the court of law. They shold be locked up and punish for using the Hon'l court as a platform to raise noise and get noticed. What was wrong with the Shilpa and Richard kisses? Both are entertainer and its their job to do that.If fact there are thousands of women in India who will kiss Richard Gere on the lips if given a chance. There are so many of us including me who will treasure the memories and that does not mean one will kiss any man or allow anyone to kiss. What is happenning in shady corner of every park and garden is more objectionable.Locked these ignorant, uncouth moral police once and for all.Let them do whatever they want behind behind bars.Shame on the moral police. They don't deserve to be heard, they deserve to be banished.

Actually our india is now moving towards TALIBAN culture (i would name it POLIBAN). Any Tom Dick and Harry politician uses this as a tool to gain political mileage. Law is twisted as per their requirement and there is no stop to all this. They feel they will get vote by creating a fuss on such issues. I think the guys who claim to be moral police must be put beyond bars and OUR MEDIA needs to be more responsible in presenting the issues in proper way so that it does not harm the Indian sentiments.

It was not at all the kiss which they do in britain or america to greet people. it was much more than that. further there was no greeting point. they were together on the stage. remember gere started from hands, then shoulders, then neck and then cheeks with shilpa leaning in his arms. isn't that a vulgur display of affection? kiss is ok if it to greet a fellow (but that too in western countries). but here, in india, we greet with a "namaste". why do we need to follow foreign culture? secondly even if shilpa/ gere has the habbit of greeting with a kiss, it was not a greeting point. thirdly, the way gere progressed from finger to cheeks with shilpa leaning is not at all the posture for a greeting kiss. that kiss is just taken on a cheek for a fraction of second and that too the lip never touches the cheek, if u observe. so if public display of affection is banned, this is an offensive position.

If Silpa and the other guy agreed to kiss each other with their permission, why others have problem?? You guys are idiots!! If a mature guy and a girl take a room in a hotel and have sex the police will come and arrest you....These funny things happens only in our great cultured India....And about these cultural fellows, if you record their telephone secretly you can see how many people are having secret affair with others by cheating his wife or her husband...Great culture!!!Have you ever seen a bollywood movie? what are the vulgar that they show in those movies?...Bollywood movies have only one theme, i.e. love, but do you think in India we have a freedom to love???...So guys, go to US or Europe and see how the people are living there...they kiss in public, if someone else see that no one care because they are sexually satisfied...they have the freedom to whatever you want...you guys are frustrated, that is the difference..and that makes all problems...Shit..

I do agree .... Its the frustration among people which leads to such discussions on the ground of moral values. More than 50% girls have affairs in University Level ... how many of their BF marries to them ... I guess not more than 20% so what about remaining .....

Also, girls can't go anywhere in India without being teased which proves that men r frustrated but they r v good at commenting on other people. Half of those opposing the kiss would not mind kissing Shilpa themselves....

For once everything has been put perfectly by Shri Tripathi and Roger. But one thing Roger, if Shilpa did not like it, she could have slapped him and atleast protested. It is unfortunate that she is defending him.

Rajkamal ji ... All these leaders raise issues for no reason ...Take all issues raised by them and what they have done in concrete when BJP was in Power .

1. Anything on RAM Mandir ( This issue raised BJP as a populist political outfit)

2. LOC : Sine die

3. Prog. for Population Control.

etc etc ... All these really highlight the issues to take political mileage.
