AB was #1, is #1 and will remain #1 until bollywood is there. It will be shame on us to comapre AB with SRK, SRK is good actor but can't fit into every character, SRK can only play role of lofar by taking the girls away. AB is now 64 yrs of age, even now he is selling like hot cake, you see the future of SRK he will not be able to sell himself after 10 years. SRk will be kicked by AB jr and HR.within 5 years. But Then also AB sr. will remain as #1. AB is Greatest, and an living legend and will remain forever.

Hello,y are u ppl so pathetic? wat is this northie southie stuff? Films in all regions have their own flaws. y even hollywood films and even jackie chan films so unbelieveable things like rajnikanth. But bharath was trying to comment about actors like mammooty and kamal not "stars". Actos who can wear a dirty dhoti and shirt and shhot @ a remote village hut if the character requires it. We should appreciate talent. Not turna blind-eye shouting meaningless stuff like southie northie etc. And FYI , rajnikanth has fans in India, china, malaysia, singapore,mauritious and japan. His films sell like hot-breads there. USA is not the only country in the world sir. First of all, try to think as an Indian .. and leave all these northy southy non-sense.

You forgot K3G...everyone loved it. Swades he actually won best actor in filmare award in 04'. He was nominated best actor for Don and KANK in 06' in filmfare awards. You probably were too young to 'see' Amitabh Bachchan's first innings. It was a legand and the reality was that Amitabh was 1 to 10 and all other actors came from 11. The only other who could compare to him was Sajeev Kumar but Sanjeev Kumar was only an actor, not an actor and a super duper star.
Advanced Booking for Amitabh films would get filled up in one hour of its opening. The lines for booking tickets would circle the whole block. He was a one man industry you cannot even compare what he was to any of stars that are now.
His greatness is not that but his second inning is so much more effective that it is amazing. In addition have you ever seen him rude or disrespectful at all? Never gutter comments like many other 'heroes'.
The only other actor who could have compared to him or reached him was Amir Khan in recent times but looking at Amir's performance in Fanna it is hard to believe that he will reach anywhere now. In fact naseerudin Shah recently said that the most impressive actor in recent times is Akshay Kumar. Not that he is greatest of the actor but his improvement in acting talents from the beginning of his career to now is so tremondous that he almost two different people.
In fact after all these only Abhishek Bachchan with his performance in Yuva, Kabhi Alvida na kahena, Bluff master and Guru looks like a strong candidate.

Mr. Balle Balle, You need a wake up call. You are writing a big paragraph on Amitabh and his popularity and big lines but come in last 15 years where world has progressed and you still seemed far behind. The lines were big because that was the only mean of entertainment on those days vs. today you have millions of TV programs and with many entertaning programs, to sustain a box office hit only SRK has been able to do that in past many years. Just look at the box office figure and wake up to the reality. SRK has achieved everthing at age of 41 that Amitabh has achieved at age of 65!!!!!
A simple test will prove who is better Amitabh Bachchan or Shahrukh Khan.
Imagine the roles played by each if anyone else can play that role with such ease look convincing and beat all others. Amitabh will beat Shahrukh by miles, from Saat Hindustani where he started to Deewar to Shakti to Don to Kala Patthar to Chupke Chupke to Amar Akbar Anthony all his current roles including Family, Black Kabhi alvidaa na kahena. Just see the varity of roles and mind you there was no NRI market in his first innings. Imagine Sharukh without NRI market and the release of so many prints.
Another simple test, SRK was found inferior in both things that AB has done with tremendous success one is KBC and the other Don. Don was the biggest mistake of SRK career and his graph has started going down since then.
SRK also proved to be a cheap person with his antiques in the FilmFare awards 2007 that was really nasty not only to the sinh but to one of India%u2019s finest Director Vidhu Vinod Chopra
SRK is a great actor but Amitabh is a living legend SRK has succeeded mostly in Karan Johar Yesh Chopra kind of films Both these directors could even have made a piece of wood successful. But most his other roles were failures.
In my opinion two of his best films were Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na and Swades.
But Amitabh Bachchan is beyond compare for any Indian actor except probably Sajeev Kumar in a certain roles.
Lastly all the guys who are listing SRK films here have you even looked at the list of Amitabh Bachchan films? This whole board and probably many books will be less to list his achievements.

Even I am not against Mr. Bacchan, he is Legend, Admirable person, At this Age too he has Amazing Energy and Still Producers r in Queue for his sign for their movies...
But Y SRK has to Pop up with Amitabh's events and Movies or TV shows, The Sponsorers, Producers, People r so Crazy that SRK can match up AB in KBC and DON, so they casted him, its not Shahrukh runs behind them and finds the persons to cast him in AB's Places...
Amitabh and Shahrukh are the Two Biggest Persons who took Bollywood to Such Heights in their Respective Time...

That's true Media has a big role in all this. AB SRK were very good friends. And it looked like Amitabh will pass the Baton to SRK. But two incidents one in Dubai where Amitabh I think was mistreated and the Filmfare Award issue with Amarsinh created this rift.
There were also some issues with Abhishek's role chopping in some films with SRK. But that was not major. I think in this industry of mile high egos people like SRK who speak their minds without thinking have to be very careful.

Yeah, thats true, AB was very clear that SRK will Overshadow everyone in KANK, so he asked Karan to Chop some SRK scenes and Include Jr AB's and also make one Individual song as Karan made 'Rock and Roll Soniye...' From there some Insecurities started B/W AB and SRK...
Before that they were very close, I think u wud have seen KBC of AB where SRK was Guest, In Koffee with Karan season-1, where AB, SRK, Jayaji, Kajol was so Fantastic with their Talks...
After Filmfare episode with Amar Singh, there is Slight Mis communication B/W SRK and AB...
