what a beautiful film yaaar.Dont think this is only a comedy film.dont think think this is only a romance film.dont think this is only a patriotic film
but the film is all
beutiful u will like thid film
i assure u u r money is valuable .So try to seeee this film
It promotes parental abuse through forceful marriage and parental disapproval of an adult child's fairly normal decisions. Akshay is allowed to find his love and try to pursue her till the last moment in the marriage but she is portrayed as if she is not allowed to marry her love with happyness. It also intentionally portrays the western culture in bad light for the sole purpose of hate. If a foreign movie portrayed Indians in such a manner, there would have been violant protests in India and the movie would have been banned. But the openness of the western culture has allowed it to be screened even in the west despite the clear hatred in the movie. Also what was all that about being shameful of rope tricks and chicken tanduri. I think it is something to be proud of when someone from the other culture knows it. Then our suppossed "hero" enters the scene and tries to say things about India that would make some narrow minded Indians go wild. In the west, people of other cultures can enjoy great freedom if they are not narrow minded. Also you have to be very narrow minded to support the scene when our muslim president and sikh prime minister are mentioned and the way their are mentioned. They are where they are because of their hard work and muslims, sikhs are also indians so no need to use their achievements just to hide your insecurities of being indian.

I think u r quite frustated in life n thts the reason for such an wasteful analysis for a light hearted movie. How much u knw abt how indians treated in abroad or wht they think abt indians?? i think u shud invest ur time in these analysis rather thn wasting it in such boring n worthless messages. the mention of sikhs n muslims was to show tht INDIA as a nation doesnt discriminates n we welcome all with open arms. will u get the same treatment out of india?? Remember home is always wher one has to return to rest n peace n INDIA is our home. GOT IT dude.... use ur time doin sumthing gud for the nation..... n dnt waste urs n other's time..
The story of NL was one of the most beautiful I have seen. Heroine doesn't hate the Hero!! But her feelings for him are even more hurting than if she had hated him. She neglects him!! He is no one to her. But the hero loves her. His love is pure and unconditional. It will always be there for her. It wants nothing from her but wants her to be happy always. That's all. This movie has a few brilliant dialogues too. Some of'em are: 1. After the dance class, Katrina asks whether he would marry after going back to India. He says, "main shadi shuda hoon" 2. In the engagement function, at the end Akshay Kumar says to Katrina "aakhir pati kaam aaya na?" so on...
But, the direction is poor. In fact the biggest weak point of this filem. Vipul needs to grow up before taking a love story like this.

i think the movie is a great movie and well made too by vipul. performances are good and akshay is really too too good. some parts are just excellent like speech to english men in engagement and the rugby match. and really agree the dialogue "main shadi shuda hoon" is well timed and is so touching. overall must watch movie.
This is good one after "guru".Nice movie... U can watch 2 or 3 times. its amazing too watch & very enjoyable tooooooooo............... From Deepak & Rajan

Cmon u r really crossing the limits. Isnt a Muslim supposed to freely express his opinion on a film. Guys like u r a shame to us Hindus. Driving a wedege between the 2 communities. I even suspect u r a Paki under the name Rajeev Kapoor trying to bring abt hatred in India.

Rajeev, I am not one of your "Usmans" but I mostly agree with "this" Usman. The movie is a waste of time and money. The story was completely flawed. Open minded and intelligent people will not like it.
However I live in India I dont identify over the "confused NRIs" thingy. And I DO NOT care a rats ass if NRI cant sucessfully integrate in the mainstream culture. They should return to India ASAP in my humble opinion if they are so discriminatory towards natives and culture of their host countries. It is hypocricy. Living eating there and hating the natives. I dont admire such two faced people. Perhaps director / script writer thought otherwise.
We real people living within India are 1000% better than "confused NRIs".
I couldn't decide at the end of the movie whether I liked it or not. Obviously Akshay Kumar looked so damn hot... (especially in the song Chakna Chakna) The hair doesn't suit him though. But he's got style... Katrina was cute. (But still not good enough for Salman!) The story made sense. But then it's not realistic enough.. you don't get guys as nice and tolerable as Akshay Kumar. Katrina's character was totally understandable. And the movie really showed Britain the way it really is... and how confused people get when they are brought up abroad, but by heart, desis.

I forgot to add... in the end, after coming home and downloading all the songs of the movie, I felt that I liked the movie. And have become a huge fan of Akki. Wouldn't mind watching the movie again. And keep on listening to chakna chakna and rafta rafta.

the reason u r saying that "you don't get guys as nice and tolerable as Akshay Kumar" is that u r writing this from Leeds, UK, not in India. these guys do exist...
amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing movie.the movie takes off from the point OUR FUNJABI BOY AKKI ENTERS THE SCREEN.THE SCENE ON BOAT REGARDING INDIA IS SUPERB.KATRINA SUITS THE ROLE TO THE T AND LOOKS AMAZING WITH AKKI, THE CHEMISTRY THE WARMTH THEY SHARE ON THE SCREEN HAS TO BE SEEN TO BE BELIEVED.

i dont understand the person who does not like movies like this. Of course an oldie wont now be interested in a young and lively funny movie. Great entertainer but for only fun loving and lively guys and gals
