Comeculo, Salazar is speaking of systems that perpetuate this even without people knowing they take part in it. It\'s not about \"minorities\" oppressing themselves, it\'s about you not recognizing the systems of oppression you benefit from and participate in then naively blaming those that see it because it affects them negatively.
how typical of white washed indian men to be racist against their own women. i can't believe a white woman was adorned in indian bridal wear as if she was some queen. i wonder how many white men marry indian women. not nearly as much because to them white women are beautiful the same as racist indian men. white women are a standard of beauty. they have coerced their standard on every non-white race.
how ironic men in a country once ruled by white standard love white women. white women are always seen as a sign of beauty and class. indian women are treated as second class int heir own country.

Grow up! They are OK with each other's past, and they made a sacred commitment to each other. What morals are you talking about? You want a lesson on morals? In your book it may be ok to live in a marriage that is in shambles and broken. Perhaps they don't believe in such unholy compromises! Think about that. They are just living their lives. By stereotyping the guy you have not established yourself any progressive and nonconservative. In my book, this is another layer of conservatism. Criticize the guy for his opinions don't blame his entire race for his comments! We are Indians, to varying degrees we all carry the same sentiments. May be shades of our skin color may be different.
