Sarkari Mehmaan ..
by Ashok Varma on Mar 07, 2007 06:46 PM  | Hide replies

My very best wishes for the newly-weds!
But Arun Bhaiya, all this 'shaan' and 'glamour' will attract Sarkari attention. I hope you own a PAN card as do the simple, aam Janata. If not I hope you (1) do not own a vehicle, (2) occupy specified floor area of an immovable property (3) do not incur expenditure for yourself or any other person on foreign-travel (4)do not subscribe to a telephone (5) do not subscribe to a Credit Card or (6) are not a Club member.
Please do not scream later that 'you did not know ...'. Or else, be a Sarkari mehmaan ... Beware, Sarkari diet is not upto caviar level!
Only watery Daal and sukha roti ... I'm loving it! LOL!

rocky you are absolutely right, but just make one correction. instead of media you should use "bachva channels." it is visual media who is doing all this hell. print media is still balanced.

Jarnail Paayi,

How is print media balanced? They do what visual media does.

BTW, Rediff can also be counted as print media but it keeps publishing about Arun Bhaiya's engagement, wedding, baraat, dance parties and so on!!

There is only imbalance!!

guys, its shocking that some rich idiot is marrying a divorcee who also has a son and how they are creating this hype. it is shame on our all forms of media which is celebrating this stupid event. there are issues like farmers suicide, jawans suicide, naxalism, poverty which does not even get 10% of media attention and follow ups. JAAGO INDIA JAAGOOOOO....

You may be right, Rajneesh but not everyone who is lamenting here would be jealous over this hype. I think many of them might be feeling apathy towards this media hype.
Do not rush to conclude that all the time. Please read thomas joseph. He did mention some of the issues in case if you did not read them by any chance. Glamour does have its place in society but it is ridiculous to give so much of importance this morons.

Wel! I read the points by thomas. Can anyone tell me how man farmers have access to internet? Or for that matter Jawans? Or naxals?Well!! How many of us having net chat? How many of us having net read the stories about dying farmers? How many Politicians read this rediff mail to feel bad about the stories and suggestions given here by the worried Aam Admi. Let not fool ourselves. When we cannot do about anything we actually should not discuss it and ridicule ourselves. We may sugggest that purchase price of cotton should be increased to suppport the farmers who grow them, we may suggest that Jawans should be paid well so that they and their families are comfortable and prevent suicide, We may say that poverty must be iradicated. But what we do? we go and buy Italian sofa for our houses. We call a jawan to save our ass when there is flood or tornados without thinking that he is risking his life to save our ass without any additional benefits, and we go to Pizza hut to enjoy a pizza maybe two actually and windup our windows of the car when a beggar comes to ask for 4 annas to have a cup of tea. Lets not fool ourselves. Lets enjoy what is fed to us. we cant feed anyone and we know that.

What the hell showing her photo on mainpage. She marries an Indian and does'nt care to wear Indian dress even in India. Its all nonsense to put the 40 year old ugly looking lady on front page. Rediff grow up.

Please put the news similar to http://news.google.co.uk/news?ned=in&topic=n in the main page.

Rediff is like a tabloid and nothing else.

There are many many other news then this useless wedding bash for 2nd timers.
