In last 2 months ther are no super hit bollywood movies , but there are movies which have done above average business. The reason is that the people here in north are sensible enough to watch and rate the movies. Not like in south, every movie which has a south star is HIT, irrespective of storyline. Basically in south if an actor: 1)fights with 20 villians alone, 2)dances in a farm with 50 peoples around him. 3)wears different color wigs 4)show some silly pranks 5)there is a song after every 15 minutes. THE MOVIE IS HIT

Please do not blabber. In any of the AB films, have they showed any reality? Take any song, you will have 50 white skin dancers around AB, Junior AB. People in South are also sensible. Thats why film like Autograph, Pandavar Bhoomi have become hits without any stardom. Malayalam and Tamil scripts have a strong story base atleast for most of the movies. BollyWood have become nearly B, C grade movies such that even actresses are very scantly dressed. I am not saying Tamil films are good but atleast such a cultural destruction has not happened in south films even compared to north.

it seems u've not watched any tamil movies ... Wat ur hindi movies have Hero walks slowly with no shirt on Heroine walks slowly near beach in bikini 5 lip kisses 10 bed scenes 1 item song With a very good stories like ... wife cheating husband, husband cheating wife,lesbian, 64 yr old man romancing 16 yr girl, 20 yr old boy romancing 35 yrs married woman
Then the movie will be a superhit..
If the movie runs for 1 month in theatres and the movie is considered as superhit bollywood movie..
In tamil a movie is considered a hit only if it runs atleast 50 days full houses ..
Tamil movies are far better than bollywood .. Thatz the reason bollywood is behind manirathnam,a.r.rahman, prabhudeva ....

I have seen people in TN more crazy for stars. They have built kushboo,nagma,simran's temples. So it is obvious that rajni is all above them. So the madness of his fame might have led people buy his audio ,but just understand at the age of 70 if he dances or do fight sequence then who would like to digest . if you have noticed he is trembling while walking. It is high time now he should do roles of his age and not dance around trees.

Big B is acting in every Tom, Dick, Harry movies and not acting selectively. This is worse than stereotyping like Rajni. Kushboo, Nagma, Simran all are Northies who got their luck in South Indian Films. See, the profit, salary of Rajni with Big B and then compare.

Anil kumar, Kushboo,Nagma , and Simran are not from Tamil Nadu. Had they been matured enough they should have stopped their fans from building temple. They have never even sais a word against it. It's like a corrupted Gov Employee. Both Give and take are equally wrong.
Guys....Im a North Indian too... But seeing the comments column i feel the readership is more from haters of Rajni rather than Rajni fans... I believe it is portraying North Indians to be more guilt about not having such a proclaimed guy in the industry... Look our industry... its always more of hype over the actors personal life rather than movie itself... eg: Ash-Abishek marr, sanjay dutt or salman case, or Big B's frauds etc One truth is that we have accepted Sanjay's gandhigiri over the silver screen to the extent of feeling pity about this fellow over his case, which actually is linked to terror. The top guys like AB or amir now falling into some fradulent stuff, we still keep this guys in the top and feel pity for them at the end of the day. South is different, a celeb cannot even think about these things, because their fans think them as demi gods. If they build a temple for some actor or actress they want them to be that way. I heard a temple was built for Kushboo but she was literally slipper slapped when she pronounced some comments abt pre marital sex leave alone money related frauds or terror related cases. What Im trying to say is.... Both sides have foolishness North - portraying the fradulent guys to be pitiable guys..... how foolish is this South - expecting the silver screen image to the real life too..... same way how foolish is this TOTALLY 2 DIFFERENT DOMAINS.... BOTH SIDES HAS ITS OWN FOOLISHNESS...DONT THROW SHIT OVER YOURSELF...

As far as Indian Film Industry is concerned there are 3 industries reigning. Hindi ofcourse tops simply due to its viewership... The Other 2 or Telugu & Tamil... In the 80's & 90's I believe Telugu was highly stereotypic... Tamil was too much into Love based Masalas... As far as Kannada & Malayalam industries they have lot more to go... 1 reason y tamil & Telugu industry prospered and the other didnt as much is that the former's fans didnt accept any other language movie as much as their own... But Kannada fans did accept telugu . while malayalam fans did accept tamil. In the recent past for abt 5 years or so, tamil is been accepted in telugu but in the dubbed version... Tamil could reign strong because of the highly professional technicians it has. Some examples being Maniratnam, AR Rehman, Santosh Sivan, Thota tharini etc. So.... Bollywood (hindi) - Huge Viewership... Tollywood(Telugu) - Repeat viewership is high (seeing a film more than once). But as far as the type of movies encouraged telugu & tamil are in the same track for the past 5 to 10 years Kollywood(Tamil) - Except for Top actors, the audience had been very knowledgeble to proclaim the much stuffed films alone eg: films like Virumaandi, Raam, Veyil etc. I read abt all these 3 films getting international awards but i do not know what exactly are they apart from hitting over the box-offices... Kannda & Malayalam industry lacks both the viewership & technical professionalism

Hindi : 20% films are good and rich. rest all crap.some are 3.30 hr punishment to the viewers. Tamil : 30% films are good.techinically strong.But the masala dose in some films goes beyond tolerance for many. Telugu :Deliver more movies/hits than other languages.Films look rich on screen compared to Tamil since they pour more money.But not on par with Tamil technically sometimes. Malayalam: I've seen two kinds of malayalam films.sex and intellectual films. They got some of the finest Directors in Indian cinema.
Rajni has a lot of fan so do amitabh, and both are very successful, more over both admire each other. And we are all failed lot... fighting each other without any reason.

Give equal status to all regional films..earlier during the IIFA film awards function held in dubai last year, mammoty made a remark that south indian actors deserve the awards when evrything was given to hindi films.
There has been tremendous work carried on in regional films that needs to be noticed, not films that are taken in US and UK hold the limelight, it is the subject that carries importance.
This year the indian film awards announced in london , went down evrthnig to bollywood, why does the function call itself indian interantional film awards ????

to call everybody south of vindhyas is ignominious .we are Telugus Tamils Malayalees Kannadigas it only shows ur illiteracy and even after so many years ur unable to call a major part of ur countrymen by a proper name shall call all the people living north of vindhyas as delhiwallas or Punjabis Bombay-Wallas or of those living in east as Calcutta-wallas is that acceptable?
Rediff Moderator is Madrasi guy thats why he immedeatly removes anything written against rajni or madrasis but if anyone write agains Big B or North then he/she won't remove it.
