Incorrect reporting
by ashok on Jun 07, 2007 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

My information is that Daler demanded 1Lakh for the song after recording it while the normal rate paid by YRF is 30,000. When refused, Daler wanted YRF not to use his voice and so they recorded it again in the voice of Shankar Mahadeven, trying to make it as similar to the original as possible.
This pissed off Daler who now wants 1 crore in damages.
What damages?

Gautam, my sources are most reliable.
Daler is a small fry and YRF if a giant. The rates they pay are known in the industry. Daler too knew them. The process is the same, the singer goes ahead and records the song, and later on collects his payment. This is also what Daler did except that he demanded a higher sum after recording which YRF refused.
Daler is trying to extract money just because they cut off his voice, and that too because he asked them not to use the same since the payment was not good enough for him.
There are far better singers than Daler in the industry and they have no issues. Daler is the one who should have checked how things work in this industry. After all, he cant boast of a big repertoire in the industry.

Cheap Stint by Yash Chopra
by Ruchita Agrawal on Jun 07, 2007 06:20 PM

Its really sad to knw whn big time producers like Yash Chopra do such things....

First of all Yash Chopra shud'nt have done this..even if he went ahead with this, he shud have informed Daler....and shud have compensated him either in kind by giving him credit for the song or by cash, by paying him.

Daler Mehndi shud fight for himself....

What is this hoopla. Don;t u people know by now that these are all publicity stunts. Daler is getting free publicity and also the movie and YRF.

Daler is starting to fade this is the time he is getting back into the market. YRF always have an issue on any big movie. Previously was Fanaa when Amir Khan made the controvercy.

Yeh sab chalta rehta hai. Tum public walo ko koi kaam dhanda nahi hai aur issue pakar ke beth jate ho, ke isko aisa nahi karna chahiye tha, usko aisa nahi karna chahiye tha.

Why don't u people go out and do something then rather than wasting time typing here. YRF is not even reading your views and doesn't give a damn, neither Daler.

No ..I thik this is the habit of Yash Chopra ..remember a controversy way back when credits for script /screenplay for DDLJ or Dil to Pagal hai were given to Pamela Chopra , Yash Copra's wife where as it was written by Honey Irani , Javed Akhtar's ex-wife .I think Honey Irani hasn't sopken to themsince then and has mentioned it in several interviews

I think you are Honey Irani's agent (read Chamcha). Yahan ek issue solve nai hota, log doosra khada karte hai. This is nothing but just film publicity. Diamond has said perfectly .. public ko koi kaam dhanda nai hai ... mujhe bhi nai hai isiliye timepass kar raha hoon ... :)

Yash, May be big - financially , But he has behaved small in this case,by stealing Daler s Talent. Look at him at first he stole from Holly wood and now he has stolen from his poor backyard of POLLYWOOD.

Though i liked the promos,
I Will not watch this Movie Made out of Stealing Talent

I hope my dear friend realizes that Yash Chopra can and should not have done that. A contract is a contract and should be honoured. SO many people get away with breaking the laws and do not honour their own committments that it is a welcome change when some one raises his voice.
Thumbs up Daler.

Ha, ha, ha!!!Is that Mahesh Sase or Mahesh Jethmalani!!! He has conviniently avoided the part of the article that said "I was not compensated or credited" and added up a detail on his own... "he got the money for whatever he sang"
