Kannada films are hot now in Tollywood!
by Madhusudhan N on Aug 02, 2007 03:42 PM  | Hide replies

Reported from site www.telugucinema.com

http://www.telugucinema.com/c/publish/news/kannadafilms_aug0107.php

It seems Tollywood has shifted its focus from Tamil and Mayalam films to Kannada film industry. Earlier our producers used to land in Chennai to bag the remake rights of Tamil and Malayalam movies, now they are eyeing on Kannada films.
At least three Kannada hits are being remade into Telugu. Rajashekar's current film Gorintaku, is remake of Kannada hit, Annathangi. The film has begun its shooting.
M S Raju has bought the remake rights of Kannada blockbuster, Mungaru Male. He is remaking it as Vaana.
On other hand, director Jonnalagadda Srinivasa Rao is starting a new film with Jagapathi Babu based on the Kannada film, Rishi, starring Shivarajkumar.

Some directors are also planning to remake other Kannada hits like Deadly Soma and Duniya.
Kannda films are current flavour in Tollywood.

Mr Nagarajan,
It may be my fault to not have seen whether the movie was released. Its a Telugu movie not kannada...Moreover if u read the reviews, all of them speak about Upendra's acting...why don't ur actors get admired ?? I did not say that Toss was a great movie or anything and I dont support insanity. Infact there are insane movies in all industries...the latest insanity is Shivaji according to me which is totally a bakwaas....
This thread was supposed to be talking about MMR which is directed by one of the best directors of all times..but you guys are just disturbing us with your irreleavant comments..
I dont wanna offend any language here...there are good actors in all film industries..You should know what to appreciate.....Yes Rajkumar rocks....pls watch his movies and then speak or else dont waste out time here

Serial on big screen with no ads.....
by pradip_ r on Jul 30, 2007 11:25 AM

You can call MMR as another serial of Mr.T.N. Seetharam which is screened on BIG screen with no ads. Story starts & ends in the last 15mins of the movie.I feel you have to watch movie from the second half. Hamsalekha music is average & Ramyas acting is bit ok.

G8 Disappointment
by Suresh on Jul 30, 2007 10:01 AM  | Hide replies

First thing i want to clear that i am shudda kannadiga. Saturday i saw this movie in PVR. Actually it great disappoint for seetaram fans, i am one of them. i was expected lot from this movie, but this movie is like normal TV serial's. Seetaram used same concept (middle class people problems) as he done in his serials. one thin he should understand that the diffrence between movie & tv serials. he used 90% of team from his tv serial team (may be cost cutting). the songs are not as good to remeber. he has not used all the charecters properly. The only highlight of the move is Tilak's extrodinory, brillient acting.

Hi praksah, i am not giving -ve publicity to kannada film. starting itself i said that i am a true kannadiga and i love kannada. i am telling my views on this movie. i will agin say that seetaram is great director but in this film he fail (this is my view) to impress us. -ve points of this film.
1. No comedy
2. No entertinment
3. Not many good songs (except Vasanta Vasanta)
4. No chance for other actor's performance (except Ramya ,Diganth & Tilak)
5. No good locations.
6 Not a good direction as compared to his tv serials.

Hi Reddy, Seetaram is not a ordinary director, he won million people hearts by directing tv serials, naturally i was expecting more in his film. the film is ok but not as good as his tv serials. i did't find his direction skils in this movie. does't mean this movie is not good.

Suresh,
I don't know how it matters whether the team is from TV Serial or from filmdom!!?? When it comes to acting and deliverimg justice to the character, it doesn't matter from where the actors are from! Try to see the moveie in that perspective!
