afraid...
by Meenakshi Anand on Jul 18, 2007 02:23 PM

...that this book will flop. coz, whenever, a creator of a piece of work / art, creates so much of sensationalism and hype for the work, invariably, such things flop beyond imagination! either the last book is utter nonsense, else, it's a precursor to jkr coming up with more books in the series. create a hype that it's the last book, get people to be hysterical, make them write loads of stuff and finally say, bending to the demands of the potter maniacs.... hahaha! the sequence of events suggest just that!

a book is a book
by Kalyan Satya on Jul 16, 2007 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

Reading the comments from Mr.Suresh, i would like to add up to the fact that, Harry Porter is a fictional character and if you like the book read it and if you do not, leave it. Critisizing the book or author and comparing it with other books is mere foolishness. Any book based on what ever subject it is like religion, sports, fiction,non-fiction, science, philosophy should bring joy and happiness when one reads it and comparing a book which is a fiction with other genere of books is showing your ignorance. No one denies that Amar Chitra Katha, Chandamama, Mahabharatha are epics in their own right but comparing them with another succesfull book like Harry Porter is stupidity. Any book if you like it will bring joy and happiness and if it does not, then move on to the next book.

I have also read comments on J.K.Rowling author being rich etc, yes, she has written a book which is liked by millions and millions all over the world and they bought the books for the joy it has bought back into reading good books. critisizing her for being rich is showing that we learnt nothing from our schooling or our teachers or our parents on the importance of values towards life.

Our Mahabharat is far better
by Suresh on Jul 16, 2007 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

Our Mahabharat is a`far better book.It has story built into another story and one can make a movie out of each of these stories. I think our children are also getting corrupted with the Potter Mania. It's high time we brought back Amar Chitra katha, which we read when were kids. Potter is no match for our Hanumnan. Mera Bharat Mahan.

agreed with zubair...though we have heros only in our religgious books...except that shaktiman thing the 1st fictional hero which was very popular...but its a corporate world joh dikhta hai wahi bikta hai...harry is best seller...if our publisher want to sell anything else they can application is needed....till then potter is rules...
