whats wrong in remakes, esp if its a reimagined version of a new director?
Sholay is just another movie, albeit a tremendous hit. Ramu is presenting his own version of the story. so what?
Ramu is one of the most gifted filmmakers in India and we should be proud of him!
when he reimagined Godfather, everyone spewed venom on him for the "blasphemy", but look at 'Sarkar' - its a brilliant piece of work and a hit too! it was way better than that overacted and over hyped remake of GodFather called "Dharmatma", which only had good music going for it.
i expect most critics to definitely trash the new film mostly coz they are used to the Chopra/Johar kinda NRI crap and that they simply hate ramu since he cares 2 hoots for critics!

Are u trying to say that as the % of people knowing Hindi goes up, other parameters go down! Shame on u.
Its really sick watching hindi movies now a days..... iam not saying this cos iam from south or cos i hate north or any other stuff...... its all i felt that All this concentration on extra Martial behavior and trying of westernizing the Indian culture attempts by johars and chopras r proving fatal 2 the industry...i mean its a saturation...... Atleast replica of some classic wud create intrest how ramu cud have done it
