If the show has taught us something, its just that the UK is a tolerant society. Shilpa won by public vote, from voters in the UK. What was seen during the show were the opinions of two random individuals who chose to be hostile. What the voting showed was that the British society raised its voice against racism to vote for a foreigner.
And when I see some of the postings on this messageboard that Shilpa has taught the Britishers/whites (a lot of namecalling) a lesson, I wonder who is more racist...

I think Shilpa should never come back to such an unthankful country. Apparantely jealousy makes people blind!
I REALLY dont think you guys get it do you??? Shilpa deserved to win the show, she did not only make indians proud she also make many pakistanis proud. What a graceful, intelligent and beautiful lady.
One cant even imagine what she has been through and to come out of it with such grace it is amazing.
And here you are, indians.....talking nonsense about her. You should be ashamed.
An unpresdented number of people has followed her through the show..all over the world. SHe has won there hearts. But some selfcentered indians just cant be nice to people who achieve something in life!!

I agree with the above - we Indians are quick to criticise our fellow Indians as we tend to be a bunch of insecure people who are always bothered about how others earn their money and ready to think the worst of others. Why cant we see the positive and good side in people or for that matter Shilpa Shetty...I have watched the Big Brother events and think she certainly conducted herself in a very graceful, humble and modest way and made not only the Indian viewers proud of her...but also Asians and other viewers subjected to racism...she taught many ignorant people from U.K that Indians are peaceful, educated, tolerant and can hold themselves gracefully to any person in any society....she could have retaliated to Jade Goody but she chose not to...and I do believe that she did it not only for the money (which we all need in the world of today) and not only for her sagging career but she did make Indians, Pakistanis and her family and friends proud of her. I was proud of her..though I dont know her or havent seen her films...just proud that she's a fellow Indian...and she made me feel proud to be an Indian myself. Congrats to you Shilpa...you are a real lady!
Dear, the time has now come to become not only a rejuvenated indian star, but also a new heroin for hollywood..My advice/suggestions to you would be to..
1. Expose more in hollywood and earn in dollars 2. Marry Andre aggassi by defeating Steffi's relationship 3. Dont do ads for local liquors (Romanov), do it for Smirnoff
But donate 25% of your income to 'Orphanages and education' in india..You would be rated high even if your flesh and skin is eaten up by camera .. Cherers !
