But, it seems unfair not to point out the highs in the movie. For example, it has been pointed out that most characters do not play the regional stereotypes that the reviewer was expecting. With so much of people staying in places other than where they were born, most of us, or the people around us, definitely are more than just representing where they were born. The paradox of this movie is that it works with both believable characters (and yes, sterotypes, as well), and also introduces unexpected fantasy elements (which totally surprised me, albeit in a pleasant way). I also am of the opinion that Reema Kagti (hope I got her name right) deserves a pat for being couragous enough to fuse those elements, and especcially for showcasing the talents of most ignored performers, who have been sincere in their body of work so far (Kay Kay, Raima, Abhay and Sandhya being cases in point), and also introducing new performers who provide solid support (Karran Khanna, Vikram Chatwal). Its also no mean achievement to bring out the sweet side of Amisha (through a representation of her character's never-say-die airheadedness), and also to control the motley crew of performers and keeping the movie's running length within limits. I would highly recommend this effort, but am sure it would be spoilt for those who are going in with half-baked knowledge of the folm's surprises. I was lucky enough not to read this, or any other review, and was rewarded for the same. To a like-minded audience, enjoy!!!
The film is good to pass few hours, but I appreciated the skilled work done by Shabana, at her this age, which shows that she brought from Pune Institutions. I have seen all the films of Shabana & Smita since my college life, their devotion to action at stage is realy wonderful. I advice to people to see the film.
I saw the film today..yes there are somethings that you can't really digest..but in totality the film is a good and realistic effort..it draws a lot from real life instances..and put them in funny context..so i would give 3 stars half to this one. and yes it's definitely better than Salaam-e-Ishq..which was a headache.
