Everytime a movie comes up these days, it should GO TO THE OSCARS. I mean has Indian cinema stooped up to such low levels???
Ever since Aamir's Lagaan got selected, every Tom Dick and Harry says every other film should go there.
I mean...are we really that desperate for attention? So what if we don't get an Oscar? We should be proud of our cinema and appreciate it in our backyard that's what matters.
As good a film as Black Friday is, it won't lose any of it's sheen if it doesn't go to the Oscars. So stop saying it should be Oscarized. India is too big a nation to cry for recognition.
As far as the Oscars go, they are great...but let us appreciate them for the kind of cinema they select, but not demean them because they don't select Indian cinema. Just think of it as their loss. And who cares if they did not select us? Remember, a great director like Martin Scorsese was drubbed again and again by the Academy. That talks a lot about their selection.

Every great cinema should go to Oscars, There is no question of desparation for attention. Its about telling world what Bollywood has to offer and contibute to entertainment. There are bollywood fans across the world not necessarily Indians.

I totally agree with Suvesh. As far as showcasing our talent goes, the Academy awards are not the means to it. and for God's sake can't we/they do something about the title "Bollywood"... it sounds as if we're a subsidiary to Hollywood, which we definitely are not.

the message is a good one and there is no need to abuse it. it just we keep running after amercians everyday so we run after their award we have a bigger movie industry they only have hollywood we have woods in every state , bollywood, tollywood. the point is we dont win oscars because we show the emotions in the movie which are long forgotten by them. SO let us all stand up and applaud this wonderfull master peice and give a outstanding response forgetting contversies.

A laboratory is a place where several experiments are conducted where some are successful and some are not.But Anurag Kashyap is one laboratory himself which conducts only successful experiments.Anurag is an inspiration to upcoming Directors. He has done it with Black Friday.Black Friday is a bright white ray of hope for Indian cinema to achieve real international recognition.I myself am an aspiring Director and I would definitely like to make films like he makes.I strongly reccomend his Paanch.
