Shahrukh Khan has been constantly compared to Amitabh Bachchan and according to media reports there is also a professional rivalry between the two actors. First SRK did the remake of Don, a film which originally was done by Amitabh back in the 80%u2019s. Then SRK decided to follow Big B%u2019s path down the small screen by doing Kaun Banega Crorepati 3. However recently SRK revealed that Star TV had earlier too approached him to do the second season of KBC. But SRK was very keen on one condition that he would do the show only if Mr. Bachchan did not want to do the show anymore. Hence when Amitabh expressed a desire to continue doing KBC 2, SRK backed away from the project in spite of the channel approaching him to do the show. SRK confirms %u201CTwo years ago Star offered me KBC 2 and I asked them if Mr. Bachchan wanted to do it. And they said yes, so I backed off. Recently too when they offered me KBC 3, I said I will only do it if Mr. Bachchan says no. After they had said that he had declined to do it, I asked to see a letter from him confirming this. Only after that did I agree to do it.%u201DWell it%u2019s nice to know that SRK has reached the top but not by stepping on other people%u2019s toes, a rare thing in bollywood....

SRK is a big manipulator will try to project himself as a nice guy.....the fact is really the opposite... after KBC3 received such a flak by people of India...he is now singing to a new tune...Perhaps SRK and his fans have realized the popularity of Mr. Bachchan. After all, he is the Shahanshah of Bollywood and is beyond all levels of comparison.....so he is playing the nice guy card!!

dont give frustrating reples peter...accept the fact that srk....by not doin kbc 2....has mantained his dignity....and has shown his respect to the legend big b!!!he turned down a offer of ..which was very lucrative...he is gettin 280 crores for kbc 3...he could easily have made 200 crores more by doin kbc 2...and it is not a small amt!!!

Why do his fans like SRK try and distort facts! SRK is getting about Rs. 40lakhs per episode. Even for a contract of 150 episodes, that totals 60 crores!! Pls refarin from mal proganda. And it is evident who is frustrated!! Some more facts for you Mr. Alexandar, in case you did not know, the spot ad rates for KBC3 have fallen by 40% to Rs. 30 lacs per 10 second spot from Rs. 50 lacs.
As Peter rightly says, SRK is now trying make amends by giving interview after interview seing the huge backlash against him. Before KBC3, he was full of pompous comments comparing himself to Amitabh. The people have now held a mirror to him.

who da hell told u he gets 60 lakhs....i have facts....dude evryone knows that...how much he gets...even big b got 150 crores.....have look at this Kaun Banega Crorepati is coming back back early next year with Bollywood's biggest superstar Shah Rukh Khan replacing Hindi cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan as host.
The contract that Star has signed with Shah Rukh is for two seasons with an option to extend it further into a third season. Each season is for 52 episodes, which means that Shah Rukh has committed to shooting 104 episodes of KBC in all.
According to sources SRK will be be paid Rs 280 crore for Kaun Banega Crorepati%u2019s next two seasons. Amitabh Bachchan, the previous host, reportedly received Rs 140-160 crore for 390 episodes.
Star Entertainment India CEO Sameer Nair was quoted as saying, "Mr Bachchan expressed his disinclination to do the show and we respect his decision. We are indebted to him for what he brought to the show but now it is time to move on and who better to hand over the baton to than Shah Rukh Khan.
"We have been in talks with Shah Rukh Khan for over a month now and he expressed his willingness to do the show. Shooting will begin by December-end and we expect this season to be on air by January-end."
Nair has been quoted in an official release as saying, "We are extremely delighted to announce the Next Gen avatar of KBC and are even more pleased to present Shah Rukh Khan, as its host. We promise to engage and deliver to our audiences a whole new entertainment experience."
Zee was also in the running for a show with Shah Rukh but apparently lost out because Star outbid them.
Said Nair, %u201CZee was in talks with Shah Rukh for a show last year but nothing had been lined up for this year. Star was the only one in talks with Shah Rukh this year. We had a specific job %u2014 someone to host KBC %u2014 and we have found him in Shah Rukh.%u201D
Shah Rukh Khan added, "I was pleasantly surprised when Star offered me the show. I was a participant in season one of KBC...and little did I know one day I would be hosting it. It is a huge act to follow, that of Mr Bachchan...but it also excites me that I am getting an opportunity to reach out...talk and interact with my audience through a medium where I began my career as an actor years ago. Nobody wants to compare Shahrukh with Amitabh, simply because there is no comparison. It is Shahrukh himself who given his pompous nature and in a bout of mis-directed ambition is trying to do that. If he had not indulged in such self praise and shown disrespect to Amitabh, I am sure people would have received KBC3 more warmly. He seems to have rubbed many people the wrong way, remember a lot his admirers are first Amitabh fans. They are definitely not competitors, there is a generation gap between them.

1.Importantly, KBC2 was a weekend program when TV viewership reduces in general as is an established fact since people go out and socialise. That is one main reason why KBC2 was lower than KBC1. So Star decided to get back KBC3 to weekdays. But to what avail, KBC3 is still lower than KBC2!! Compared to KBC1, TRPs of KBC3 are one third!!! 2. The viewership TRP ratings in the past two weeks have been consistently lower than even 6-7 year serials like Kyunki Saas... & Kahani Ghar... and at par with Kasauti Zindagi..! 3. Let alone the TRPs, talk to a group of people or hear the general buzz or look the results from the umpteen opinion polls and it will be evident that KBC3 has made little impact.
KBC was a well established program with a great game format but has now got below average viewership because of an average and over hyped host. Even Aamir or any other actor of your generation would have managed this or even better.

i think kbc has come to its lowest levels since SRK has taken over. His language "tum", "sharukh gale laga lo" and praise about his wax idon in london museum are another reflection of the cheap standards he has set for kbc overtaking the decency left by Big B
Hey guys let me tell you about an incident which happened few months back, This will show you all how SRK is desperately trying to prove everyone that he is the greatest superstar..this refers to the news about the launch of the book on Mr. Shah Rukh Khan titled SRK, Still Reading Khan, on October 11, 2006. It is somewhat intriguing to find motive behind choosing the birthday of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan as the appropriate time for the release of the book. Despite the fact that SRK is media%u2019s blue eyed boy %u2026 all the private T.V. channels gave wide coverage of Mr. Bachchan's birthday celebrations throughout the day, which had practically overshadowed the event of the launch of the book. I wish, the friends and fans of SRK should have realized the popularity of Mr. Bachchan. After all, he is the Shahanshah of Bollywood and is beyond all levels of comparison!

SRK has exposed himself as the biggest manipulator and overreaching fool in the world. He had already made buying awards, manipulating media, cozying up to the established directors to secure hits. His stupid ambition is now making him do sillier things now. As if Don fiasco wasn't enough, by trying to stupidly copy and outdo a legend which none in the last three decades hasn't been able to do, he is only exposing what foolish ambition without genuine talent can do to a person. KBC 3 is going to prove the last nail in his coffin. He is already on his last leg in bollywood. None of his films other than the soppy romances of Karan johar and yash Chopra have ever been hits. And the last one by Johar has bitten the dust. May God help this monkey and make him regain his senses before it is too late.

I will ask everybody to go see the Madame Tussauds museum now before they put that 5 feet actor. After they put this guy it will turn into a zoo.
srk had an experience of tv with fauji and circus and one more serial AB no such experience srk did the show when he was at peak AB did when he was in his fall at 60 odd SRK no pressure except comparison with AB(although for him or anyone that is the most difficult part to handle)
AB was under financial crisis and was beginning his third innings. SRK got another help through comparison with AB(which is solely responsible for good collection of don in the frst two weeks, such that even older don was cd's were sold again like hot cakes) with AB no such comparisons and help, he was on his own and look at the humility AB is treated like god still he thinks he is learning from young generation and look at srk he thinks he is king and said openly that AB should retire.....frustratiom......cannot even handle competition from 64 year old actor......mr khan go and see how young AB handled Dilip kumar in shakti when he was young....learn from that competition....hats of to dilip and AB for giving such wonderful piece to film industry

correct the problem is that srk should not beat the bsh around that he is best.......no one can tolerate insult....he is doing a fair job considring his potential....but to match it with AB is injustice to real art
Why the hell people compare with SRK and AB.SRk got his own talent and as well AB.Both are superstar in bollywood industry with unique talents.We should be proud for both of them,alteast they are not corruptive and not involved in criminal activities like todays politicans nor they tauts like another commuinty,we should learn from them,they are icon of unity not stain for the country.
