RE:see the original

I saw it too and found it to be 'inspired' from Falling Down! However, when I did my bit of research, I read interviews on the web by the director Nishikant from the time when his original marathi version Dombivili Fast was released. He has never claimed that the film is original. He has always attributed the germ of the story to douglas's Falling Down. Apparently dombivili fast won several awards, and at each award function, Nishikant has come forward and always said that his film is inspired from Falling Down. I guess atleast he is honest. Thats more to say than most indian directors who shamelessly copy and shout from rooftops that they havent (Partner- hitch, aja nachle - brazilian film, rang de basanti - jesus of montreal etc etc).
I thikn as long as the inspired indian film is good, and due credit is given to the original, I have no problems with it. what say ppl?
And this film i think is very very good. progressive!
Its ok.. gud concept, but not entirely well made. and madhavan shows how limited his acting capabilities actually are.. The scenes involving Dir Seeman are far better.. but quite hard hitting.. good effort.

Utter rubbish ! If Madhavan is limited , then his rivals in this industry are void in terms of acting ability !
Madhavan is by far the best actor in the current generation and his performance in Evano Oruvan was of Kamal's standards .

Mr Aravind Have u seen all of his movies? apart from aayitha ezhuthu, for which movie has he won gud critical acclaim in terms of performance? and comparing him with kamal too soon, is the biggest blunder one can make. I said the movie was really a different effort and a commendable one. Madhavan's acting was ok, but he exposed his limitations in terms of emoting abilities.. those who see the movie in the coming days will agree with me.

Madhavan was great in Alai Payuthey, Jay Jay, Guru, Anbe Sivam, Priyasakhi, Run and average in Ayutha Ezhuthu.

Kannathil Muthaittal is one of the best madhvan's performance. He is one of the few actors who trys to take the industry to higher standards.
I have seen marathi film dombivali fast which end in a tragedy & a wake up call to those who don't care abt their rights & duties. I have not watched this remake but I m sure this vl also get gr8 response from audience.

first of all the review given by rediff looks as if they have given the review with out seeing the tamil version... just because they film maker felt that he wanted to deliver a message and since the original film has attended lot of film festival rediff has given a review to be on a safer side. The film looks like they wanted to make a good film but they have utterly failed in delivering it. It doesnt matter what they want to make it matters whats appering on the screen.. the way everyhing appered on the screen except audio engineering and cinematography and the female leads acting rest looks very wanabeee.. especially the scene were he goes mets teh guy who sells drugs.. thats a small example of how they wanted to show as if its very real , but out put wise and the content delivered is very plastic .. the scenes are too lengthy and the acting by seeman is real crap .... end of teh day hats off to the cinematographer and teh audio engineer......

Seeman acting was really tooo good in this movie. He has taken the characters to his heart and has delivered it. Very realistic performance by seeman and the way he talked the tamil was like very nice.

acting by seeman is crap ?
after reading that , i lost all credibility for your views !
Seeman portrayed the good cop who has to do a bad job under the name of professionalism was quite simply brilliant . A breath of fresh air from the usual policemen we see in Tamil Cinema who boss around and try to show their dominance through their eccentric verbose and aggressive body language !
Seeman on the other hand was composed and for once , showed us what a real COP is like !
If this is a wannabe film , then i must only assume that you have an atrocious taste , spoiled by the commercial overdose and are one of those people who would go to any extent to suppress good quality and encourage rubbish !
Evano Oruvan is class ! One of the best parallel cinema ever made in Tamil Cinema . Get a grip if you don't agree with me.
This movie is a lesson for all the indivuduals, who are not worried about anything, they are fine with their job & so.For example people driving dont follow the rules if we ask they say what is your problem & move on.This is where the country stands.
