I have never thought about any movie after watching it, but Chak De India is such an excellent movie that I went to see the movie twice and liked it so much that I kept thinking about the movie. It's such a suberb, fantastic movie that it can be called a "masterpiece". This one should go for Oscar.
Shahrukh Khan does not have many dialogues in the movie. He also does not have to do much in the movie. The movie entirely belongs to those 16 female players. All of them have acted "brilliantly" in the film. The film is realistic, carries a strong message, and is very entertaining at the same time. The fim is also full of humourous dialogues. I think everone should go and watch this movie because it's a delight to watch such a great movie after a long time.
Kudos to the 16 female players in the film...they have all acted brilliantly and even left SRK behind in terms of acting skills and comedy.

I am not surprized about this. This is typical of the NRI culture in US and UK - these are psedudo Indians who "think" they are Indians, but are completely overshadowed by Western culture. They are neither here nor there. They suffer from Insecurity and Identity Crisis.
For these sad NRIs, the only movies that will work are Mohobbattein, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Kushi Kabhi Gham kind of movies -- because thats the typical "ABCD" culture they can releate to. They can understand realistic movies like this, specially if its driven towards Indian Patriotism. Sad, but true.
This apparent sad weakness of NRI confused ABCDs is well exploited by Karan Johar, Yash Chopra, Sooraj Barjatya, Subash Ghai and Nikil Advani. They will have four pairs, 12 songs, one Rahul as hero, one Pooja as heronie and one Anupam Kher / Satish Shah for silly comedy, Kiron Kher & Reema Lagoon for melodrama -- AND THATS IT $$$ is gauranteed.
Feels really sad that movies like Ab Tak Chappan, Swades, Chakk De India are moving. They are not just techincally brilliant, but also gets into the soul of the audience.
Sad NRI market.

Sour grapes..thats what u r...ur response was not to the movie but ur grievance against all Indians who are still able to live abroad while u were forced to come back ( no maater waht reason).Most Indians with the exception of Gandhiji are selfish to the core and all they care about is making money and having a good life...thats true for NRS as well as resident Indians. So all this nonsense of clubbing NRI and calling them names is kiddish...it just shows ur inferiority complex at not being able to make it. If u were even a bit Indian then u wud be working as a volunteer trying to help needy Indians and not wasting ur time here....

Again, whos talking about Patriotism and True Indian here!? I am talking of the STIGMA NRIs are bitten by and what kind of movies they choose to see.
FYI, I came back to India on my own will and decision, no one threw me out OR I didnt come back for any personal unforeseen reasons. I wanted to be with the roots and so I am here, CLEAR and WITHOUT ANY REGRETS(Again, this is for your Q as to why I came back).
I know you are hurt, afterall being an NRI, this is not so easy to take. It needs guts and dismissal of EGO. Its clearly evident how you are suffering with the Identity Crisis, you could not even face some of my statements with Sportsman spirit. Sad.

No doubt chak de India is an awesome movie. I was a state level hockey player & I am an Indian sports lover too. But as Shanti says, its summer time out here in US. Moreover Chak de released on a week when movies like Bourne Ultimatum, Rush hour had released!! Moreover the so called 'NRI' u guyz targeting ( I don't knw which category of Indians u r refering 'coz thr r a zillion categories) mostly come to watch glamourous part of the movie & the stars. They r not entertained by the theme & acting of Indian actors. The so called ABCD ppl whomsoever I knw always talked abt the songs or glam part of any movie. Never I have heard them talk abt anything else. I wudn't be surprised by the movie failure out here. Atleast for ppl like me tickets r easily available & thatz wot matters to me. Don't really care abt Aditya chopra's pocket.

Shanthi N, I am surprised at your judgement, do you judge patriotism based on what movie people watch. None of the hindi movies run successfully during summer holidays (June end - Aug), call up any distributor e.g Eros entertainment and check it out. Most of the kids I know in my locality in NJ 1) are in India for summer 2) are in summer camp 3) travelling or hitting the beach on weekends. No one like to be holed up inside theater during holidays. I have seen for the first 5 year the brand new indians are confused at one end they are homesick on the other end they are verwhelmed by US.

Who is talking about "patriotism" here. Get the message dude right -- my point was to express what kind of movies run and flop in the NRI market.
I just watched the movie in a theater in Dallas...The movie hall was packed...it was a great movie ..no over dramatization..and yes I saw many bangladeshihs and pakiathanis in the hall..I liked it better than even Lagan..and so did most of my friends...I don't know where rediff got it's data from.

We care a damn what UK n US is saying about the movie. Big haters of Yash & SRK will also love this as I did.After a long time a good three hrs in the theaters. Hats off to the gals for their great performance & practice for three months before shooting. Only a looser can abuse the film.
A poor mishmash and copy of MIGHTY DUCKS with a few scenes noteworthy. Come on people in India grow up and think twice before writing that the Movie Rocks. GO watch MIGHTY DUCKS and you will know what a copy cat SRK is

Chak De is lot more then MD..Respect & Love for the Hockey.. and its first time that the fairer sex is leading the way.. No it does not.It's a pretty decent movie by Indian standards and thats more important. You cannot compare it with a Hollywood movie cos in Hollywood,you have a lot of sports movies being made which is not the case in India. So why is Chak De special? 1. It's definitely not the usual SRK movie. Here he's potrayed as a very down to earth character. 2. Hockey and especially women's hockey is almost dead and this will go a long way in reviving the sport itself and serve as an inspiration to other women's sports. 3. No song and dance sequences. 4. Australia and not NYC or UK or Europe is pleasing to the eyes. 5. Through the movie we can at least dream of India winning something big.
