Its a good idea to send Munnabhai...to oscar as idependent entry. There is not only one Hollywood movie which participates for oscar then why not 1+ from Bollywood. Even the movie is nice and based on a different concept all together....nice job. All the best to Rang De Basanti and MunnaBhai. Lage raho chopra saheb...keep making some more Munnabhai Sequels....
Thats cool! If one can send the movie independently can someone suggest Vishal Bhardwaj to send OMKARA too. Please Mr. BHardwaj Omkara will definitely get nominated. It's the best movie...
Yeah! This is absolutely unbelievable! This is just what I wanted. I loved both Rang de Basanti and Lage Raho Munnabhai a lot and I really couldn't decide which one should be sent to the Oscars. I felt both of them deserved it equally and how I WISHED that you could have two official entries from the same country! And now both are going! How happy I am! I wish both of them the very best of luck. I don't think they will hamper each other's chances of winning, on the contrary they are together increasing the awareness and love of Hindi cinema internationally and also India's chances of winning. This is truly a remarkable year for Indian cinema :)
Lage Raho Munnabhai is undoubtedly a very great movie. But again, it is on the lines of Munnabhai MBBS, which is a copy cat of Hollywood flicker Patch Adams.
Lage Raho is the same as Munnabhai MBBS with a different touch but it's nothing but a copy.
I don't think the Oscar panel doesn't accept copy cat movies.
Sending Munnabhai to the Oscars as an independant film is a wise choice that will pay off. Its the only movie (Bollywood, Hollywood or otherwise) that has had a profound impact on me....and a majority of other viewers (Desi, ABCD and otherwise). Its a feel-good movie that transcends race, culture or continents. The humble yet profound power of "Gandhigiri" still prevails.....
Thats an awesome news......! RDB, Munnabhai...thats 2 hindi films from India. Water is being sent as Canada's entry... So, thats puts the total count for Hindi films to three...thats unbelievable...3 Hindi movies will be competing against each other at Oscars...!!
