I think Ajay Devgan is a good choice to play Ram. He has the right kind of intensity and talent to play the role. Also he has an awesome personality and is one of the finest actors in Hindi cinema today. His 2 National Awards and several other awards proove it. Yes he might not be a conventionally handsome guy but he has it in him to play Ram. He has powerful and expressive eyes, He is dark complexioned(Ram was also dark complexioned)and he has the persona of a warrior . Also Ajay and Raj Kumar Santoshi have done great work together in the past(Lajja, The legend of Bhagat Singh, Khakee). Ajay only needs to work out and put more weight on his body to look muscular.It will enhance his appearance.As far as Kajol in the role of Sita is concerned,undoubtedly she is one of our finest actresses,but to see her in the role of Sita is a bit difficult.I don't think she is the right choice. I think Aishwarya would be the best choice to play Sita. Also Ajay and Aishwarya make a beautiful pair. But Ajay is Very good for the role of Ram and should do a great job. That should be a joke of the DECADE. How can we except such a hilarous concept. Ajay devgan from which angle looks like Shri Ram? he should be given role from Ravans Infantry.. he will fully fit in there.
I think this idea is good i.e casting a real life couple as the mythological characters and that ram and sita. I think both ajay and kajol will look very good in their new roles.
