O Padmini ! Indeed, like mr karunanidhi said, how can death claim a personification of art, grace and beauty like you ? When I waas young and learning dance at Saraswati GAna Nilayam, Madras, the two- Vyjayantimala and Padmini were like the two muses of Indian mythology- with extreme good looks, unbelievably graceful dancing talent, and captivating personae; it was difficult to decide who was the better among them. But if Madhubala was one personification of beauty, Padmini was another- heart-shaped face, dark, large, lustrous eyes, delicate, shapely nose, full mouth, exquisite jawline, ample bosom- perhaps it was Padmini in a much, much earlier birth, that the great sculptors of the Cholas and the Pallavas made a model of for their exquisite carvings of goddesses.
What can one say about her passing ? That the world- nay the good earth- is bereft of another of its rare creations ?
May her soul rest in peace.. and may she be born again, to inspire new generations evermore.. Surekha Tenneti Venugopal
A great loss to the film industry, she had done extremely weel in her past generation and a sign of moral role for the youngsters to follow the art of acting. We all feel the pain for the loss to the industry. May her heart live in peace.
When I was young used to admire her Acting talent She used to live with the roll/character Most admired movies EDIRPARADATHU, THILLANA MOGANAMBAL and many more with Sivaji Ganesan Both Sivaji and Padmini used to really compete with each other in acting
Padmani - fondly called as Pappy by many - has passed away leaving to this world her great dancing and acting skills.
Memory of film done with great actor - Late Shivaji Ganesan in Thillana Mohanambal will never fade away. The scene in the train - where they speak through their mind - the facial expression is just enough to express the words. The dance scene in the temple for the song - MaraindhIrundu Parkum - still is fresh.
Pappy was an actress would have combined dance and acting in its full blend. This great soul has left a lot of good work which the new generation can study, understand and follow.
