Thirty years ago, every dialogue of Sholay was at the lip-tip for every child and adult alike. Amjad Khan totally turned the image of a villian. Till that time, villians were known to be neatly dressed, staying in posh buildings, speaking english and surrounded by the anglicised women barely covering their bodies. Gabbar said good-bye to these images and showed how a villian SHOULD BE. May be, it was a perfect study of the tribal looters from MP or Bihar or UP, but it ws well done. Everybody in the film, right from Gabbar Singh to Asrani and even Sachin did their BEST for the film. Only recently, somebody started commenting that it was a remake of English film. Watch Sholay now, it gives still a different thrill even today. As Amitabh has pointed out, it is a real challenge to remake Sholay and that too, to depict Gabbar in a natural way. Wish the team the very best.
Super actor Amitabh can indeed give a different look of historical character "Gabbar Singh" but What Amjad Khan has done in 1976, that is beyond any reach. Best of luck Amitabh.
Amajad Khan the only name wich stike first if you are talking about The sholay , Now thats for sure If Big B' is palying new Gabbar than that amjad khan's role will definatly effected by Big B's perfomance he is much more good performer than Amjad khan & can act any thing without any limitation but i think the impact witch that role have was amjad was new at that time so is digestive with that role but amitabh has respect as good human witch shuld not allow our mind to see him & feel bad person....I think that will definatlly compare with that feeling ..Any way best of luck Big B'
funny, thats wat me got to say. amithab, though a superstar, looks like an old man who is ready to enjoy his retirement in the image released as gaddar for rvg's sholay. the original gabbar, amjad, was born for that role.....now i need wait and watch if amithab can carry the role as well.........
This is really very funny to note that Ramgopal Verma is trying to do what he cannot. He is really making mockery of all time classic, Sholay and in addition to that Amitabh is making fun of himself by enacting the role of "Gabbar Singh". I think Ramgopal Varma is making a comedy film. When people say, Shahrukh can't do what Amitabh did in DON, similary Amitabh can't do what the late Amjad Khan did in Sholay. This role will be the downfall of Amitabh. I can't stop laughing myself by imagining Amitabh in the role of Gabbar Singh. If Amjad Khan was alive today, he would have died again..lol. Let's wait and see who will be more succesfull, Amitabh as Gabbar Singh or Shahrukh as Don. I think everyone knows what would be the outcome, but let's wait till we get the actual box office results. The one thing i cannot understand, what on earth has made Amitabh to say 'Yes' to this role? Mr.Varma is another foolish person in the industry who always talks big but consistantly deliver duds at the box office. He said, it's a challenge of his life time, i feel, it's the challenge for the audience to bear this movie. Mr. Varma & Amitabh, it's a time for you to hang up your boots.
Ultimate...Big B you are ultimate...Any script Any Role ,Any director Any co star Any where, You are again proving that you are the king of all kings, Stunning & waiting to see your energy
i highly appreciate the efforts put in by RGV & company to remake the Sholay. But i am quite sure that these remakes are surely going to prove a major disaster & we may soon find it after all the remake movies gets release. One can do as much as RND to the Orignal Sholay contents but you (RGV) cannot deliver the same old essence & grip. the only positive this remake will have is Mr.AB working for the project. i bet remakes are not gonna work no matter how much Optimist the producer & directors are. same applies to Farhan Akhtars - DON...Promos were as disgusting as SRK in the movie is....please note it. Take Care; Kuldeep Ramaiya
