Fanaa Ho Ja- Get lost
by JP Dubey on May 30, 2006 07:16 AM  | Hide replies

So what do these worthies from Bollywood want- that Modi should make screening and viewing of the film compulsory in Gujarat? They care so much for actor's rights of expression but what about others' right not to listen to him or to oppose him as they deem fit. Don't the people themselves have some rights- whether to see or not to see a film or Cinema owners a right to sceen it or not.If you have a case, who has prevented you from seeking legal remedy .
Let us face it, activists are very uneasy over the success of Gujarat. They have vested interests in keeping Gujarat and India underdeveloped. PLM- Politico-legal-media axis is frustrated that their relentless campaign to malign Gujaraties has not worked and Gujarat is progressing so well. It is Gujaratis way of telling them to get lost- Fanaa Ho Ja.

Will Amir khan pee on a roadside like normal Indian
by Vimal Mehta on May 30, 2006 06:45 AM

I am a rational Gujarati living outside of India for quite a while now. Fortunately, I am able to keep a tab on the current Amir Khan- Narmada issue. My only argument to all those Bollywood supporters of Amir Khan is that in the name of freedom of speech Amir Khan can not utter any nonsense in the public. If he would have been a Munna of his own movie Rangila in his real life than matter would have been different. Because then media would have not given the same amount of publicity which can affect a lot of peoples emotions. Moreover, being a public figure he must understand he is not a normal INDIAN. Yes, all public figure should understand this very clearly and they ought to behave in disciplined manner as they have a very massive impact and influence on common mens lives. You can say this is the price they must pay for the Stardom they are enjoying.

Let me ask all those Khan supporters that would thy be all there with him if tomorrow Mr. Khan expresses his personal views about Nehrus so called love-affair with lady Mountbatten or Balasaheb Thakareys Hindu Fanaticism using his right freedom of expression. The fundamental question to all those supporters is that

Aamir Khan and Gujarat
by Dr. K Prabhakar on May 30, 2006 06:26 AM

Sir,
It is pathetic to see the media hype over self serving stand of Aamir on the Narmada Dam. He is talking about the plight(so called) of few thousand displaced persons. Lacs of Kashmiri Hindus have been displaced and suffering for last 20 years but he has no time for them. May be it is not media savvy or high profile issue. It is time that such pseudo secular and modi bashing turncoats are exposed. The campaign seems to have caught on communal lines as can be seen form variuos letters from minority community persons supporting Aamir, taking anti modi stand.

Modiocracy!
by ANAND SHATELWAD on May 30, 2006 06:25 AM

Now where are all the elite medicos who are fighting for their legitimate rights? What do they have to say to this form of democracy? Where is the media who is giving undue lop-sided publicity to the anti-reservationists? What do the great social thinkers,Francois Gautier & TVS Shenoy etc etc have to say on this? Why is the hindutva band so strangly silent on this issue? Come on MAN..say something about MODIOCRACY !

by prem gupta on May 30, 2006 06:23 AM

dear sir,
Strange are the ways of the politicians and their stooges. What Amirkhan has said was to prvide rehabilitation to the displaced persons. there is nothing wrong in supporting the right cause he was never against mansarover project which are needed for the development of the country. But the politician needs some thing to agitate
If right thinking person support the right cause many ills of the society can be warded off.

is modi not a citizen of democratic nation?
by Jigar on May 30, 2006 12:48 AM

All those who support Aamir Khan said that Aamir Khan, as an individual, had the right to express his opinion, as stated in the Indian Constitution.....

well....then when Modi criticized him .....doesnt modi as a citizen of democratic nation have right to express his own opinion.....???

I mean if Aamir really digs into the issue....he will find out that the protestors of Narmada Yojna are not even letting the people who needs to relocated analyze the situation properly...they are pressurizing them not to take any kind of help from government....and so this way even they are not helping them and they are not letting government help them too..... i mean....if Aamir's sole purpose of this protest is to help this people....then ....thru governments support he can help this people better...is what i believe....

and what does a free citizen Aamir has to say about Reservation issue? juz keep mum....Gr8!!!!

Modi Government sponsored terrorism.
by Jam on May 29, 2006 11:56 PM

If all the producers of films have the guts, they should ban screenig of all the films in Gujarat.

Modi and his mostly Gujarati people were always intolerant but they never had the guts to show. The leaders in Gujarat like MOdi have given them confidence to show thier intolerance in public specially after Modi government sponsored terorism in Gujarat of 2002.

Gujarati's are the only community in India after RSS who have no respect for Gandhiji, the Founder of our nation.Still in this democratic setup no one take s any action against them.

Why should the Indian populice in general not label Gujarati's as traitors.

Bollywood support for Amir Khan
by v.s.shirali on May 29, 2006 11:17 PM

The politicians in Gujarat have underestimated bollywood.Maybe a day is soon coming when bollywood will completely boycott Gujarat with not a single hindi film being released there. What Amir has said about rehabilitation has been said by countless others so why this hype except for cheap political publicity of the government there. The joke is on Gujarat because so many from Gujarat are coming over to Mumbai to see the film and by now many many more right there in Gujarat have already seen it on DVDs.

MR
He deserve it, he should face it.
by MR on May 29, 2006 11:02 PM

Aamir Khan deserves protest from Gujarat ruling party (ofcourse without power & muzzle). He had been a nice guy and never entered into any controversy. Why should he suddenly jump into the controversy. If he wants to serve the people, there are lot of problems in India. Why can't he protest for bomb blasts in Mumbai, why can't he protest against the attack in Akshardam temple, why can't he protest the recent killing of 34 Hindus by the terrorist. Why can't he protest against the MNC soft drinks which is spoiling the healths of Indians. Who is stopping him from going for indefinite hunger strike for the goodwill of lakhs of Kashmiri pandites who are staying in the streets of Delhi. Why is he not protesting anything else? Is he only against BJP? then Gujarat BJP has the rights to protest against his movies without violance and mis-use of power.
