I always see only Aamir;s; moovie.his acting is so exlent...and his every moovie ,v.difrrent..story.. Like ..Fanaa...RangDeBasanti..jjws..qsqt'''dhkmn..dil...
The Delhi part of the movie is pure movie heaven.. I thought Gulzar or Javed Akhtar wrote the script and the lyrics until I learned that the director wrote the screenplay and script. The director plays Dr.Jekyll all this while... and then his Bollywood convulsions start and he turns into Mr.Hyde.. and systematically begins to plagiarize, and destroy, not just Eye of the Needle, but any semblance of faith he has earned from the viewer. Watch this on DVD till 10 minutes before the intermission and hit the sack with pleasant memories. Go any further - you'll face full-scale terrorism on your intelligence.
By the half way mark you get a feeling of dejavu. And one cant help but think of "eye of the needle" although that was a real taut and gripping saga of two people in love battling patriotism and and their hidden desires . Fanna in spite of being caught up in the the frame work of the usual song and dance routine of the bollywood sticture,is never the less engrossing in parts mainly because of the pedigree of the lead pair .For someone who regularly watches hollywood movies or for that matter any other foreign films ,the dilema is always sitting through the length of the stereotypicalhindi movies.Only an exceptionally made song and dance routine like DDLJ can hold anyones attention for the usual 3 hours. But all said and done a watchable movie maybe getting 6 of my 10 points
