Fanaa Violence = Modi; DaVinci Violence != Y Samuel Reddy ??
by jay gangopadhyay on Jun 24, 2006 11:32 PM

The press went overboard to suggest that modi was behind Fanaa ban . Now the Maino sponsored Christian goons are resorting to violence and disturbing peace..rediff chooses to report it as just "noisy" protests.. Rediff you have been caught with your pants down.

Historically, people claiming to be from every religion persecuted someone or the other.Hinduism contributes its share of caste differences. The problem is SIN. It is not enough to get degrees/wealth/fame.Every human should strive to love GOD and his neighbour as himself. There is only absolute truth. All religions cannot be true. Its upto individuals to find their own truth. Coming to the film issue.. Its an open fact that had this been a movie against Hindu diety or Mohammed, Supreme court would have been banned. Except Christ who said Love your enemies.. He didnt say a word when he was persecuted, forget about a movie.Historic evidence is present to prove his resurrection.events in the world are happening as predicted in Bible (not nostradamus). It is written,And there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall beshaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

You are right about mentioning the christian organizations highly sensitive.. But they are also doing for their alms from the so called 'richest countries'..

Humans always followed resources.. just like portugese/French/British/Dutch coming to India.

Da Vinci Protests in Hyderabad
by Sunil on Jun 24, 2006 12:59 AM

This is ridiculous.. A reaction totally unexpected from a Hi-Tech City like Hyderabad..This is a clear indication of how illogical our folks are..

In U.S. people have no complaints watching the movie.
I think same is the case with other western countries with a predominant christian population.

Don't see any reason behind the Protests.

- Indian in US.

DaVinci protests in Hyderabad

Itlay is a Catholic nation, and Europe as a whole is basically Christian, yet one is yet to hear of such physical protests against the DaVinci Code as is happening in Hindu majority, secular, democratic India. Seems people in this backward, poverty-stricken land of filth and squalor have too much time on their hands, in this reeking country - they could better spend their time cleaning up their towns and village rather than wasting so much manpower on useless protests, bandhs, hartals, strikes, riots, meelees ..you name it.

Ban on Davinci Code movie
by sireesh on Jun 24, 2006 12:21 AM

I still dont understand why the movie is banned. Its just a fictional movie. It depends on the person whether to believe or not what they show in the movie. Even the countries where the christianity is the only religion are showing the movie without any cuts. Why are these guys making such a big issue about the movie. its just another movie. There are so many issues to be worried in India other than this movie. Show the same spirit in solving the problems that inhibit the progress of the country not for a movie. No offence meant to anyone.

a better option
by Girish on Jun 23, 2006 09:18 PM

Instead of doing such a foolish thing, a better option would have been to read the novel and watch the movie instead. There is no reason to get offended if you are really a man of faith and a child of Lord.
May Lord forgive your sins.

Is this happening because the present govt is headed by a christian? Anyway what's the big deal with a movie? Why are poeple so insecure about religion? Even in majority christian countries people are not giving so much importance to this movie.
