With all due respect to Mr.Bachhan I have just this to say that when a person as high profile as Mr. Bachhan who has had a checkered career - highs in his profession as an actor and media person and lows in his political & business career there are likely to be 37 I.T cases against him as they would be so for any other businessman, actor or politician who has spanned 3 decades in working life. I believe this to be an occupational hazard rather than harassment.
The I.T.Dept claim that they have only followed procedure and I as a citizen and taxpayer of this country am inclined to believe their version that they have not targetted Mr. Bachhan specifically on any orders from somewhere. Mr. Bachhan should not believe all that his wellwishers tell him and react according to what reports he is fed with.
It is highly unbecoming of a man of his stature making a statement about buttons and threads being the next target by the I.T Dept. I do not believe he has actually said this. There is someone who is putting words attributed to him. It seems to be a well crafted script penned by ingenuous writers of the so called 5th estate. He has to learn to pay his taxes gracefully.
the IT dept is doing its job.i appreciate the IT dept in this case because even if it is a known celebrity they do their job.if he is a good tax payer let him show that.why he has to go to media?
I hav very high personal regard for Mr.Bachchan, but in this case, there is no reason why he should go to the media if he has any complaints. Besides, what is the big deal in a notice? A notice is an official intimation/solicitation of information from the individual; reply it. If Mr.Bachchan can reply to so many stupid media questions, what is the fuss created about it. Just because he is a cult figure, does not mean he is above law or deserves special treatment.A man of his stature should gracefully abide by the law instead of cribbing in the media like netas.
THERE are tons and loads of people who get away with the IT department and their rules people who have been in POWER etc... however they have never been targeted at all!!! then why the IKON who has been so particular with his tax data
THAT show how our system sucks !!!! sometimes it feels if i have been given a choice to choose to do something right is to get rid of the oldies sitting on their fat bases trying to rule with their disgraceful ideas
i do believe that there should not be any torturing action should be taken against a person who is not only a great star but also a great personality of India. He has given us and our country so many meaningful films. About me, He is a god for me and for our family.
Read thru most mssgs.... I am not clear why such a fuss is created about the said matter. U have televison channels, newspaper, etc showing the same matter again and again.... Why is this matter taken so seriously...Thr are other matters that we can discuss... And to matter that is amitabh harrased, my answer to it is yes.... because its we people incldg the politicians here who are taking this matter too seriously... frst of all as per the news I heard, IT department has asked for jst clarifications on certain matters, that is a part of there interrogation... but the important aspect is the person who took this matter to a public level, that's where the fault lies? And abt the relation between Bachan saab and Soniaji, its importatnt that they setle there disputes, if any, sitting round a table, and spend ther time for development of this country....
i completely go with IT Department.let them do what they are doing.Hey!! y are v behaving so silly n ridiculous... let it be AB or President of India,if he is guilty of some thing..he shud b taken to task.Above all if the person in question is someone so popular n a celebrety..he shud be idealistic.
So no harm in collecting taxes..even by 50% more than what he has to pay..
let this be an eye opener for all others who are escaping taxes.
I don\'t think so at all. Amitabh and several other celebrities routinely make a mockery of IT rules by owing several crores to the department. I think they should be ashamed that when hard working indians who can hardly make both ends meet are paying their dues these guys find every excuse to delay IT payments. When they don't pay what they owe it impacts several social and other developmental projects. Bottomline if they were in a more developed country many of them would have been behind bars long ago. The fact that Amitabh was in the hospital when the notice was served is irrelevant--pay up what you owe and don't look for excuses or make up these silly "being victimised" theories.
