To adorn his tributes with superlatives that we are used to using almost everywhere, would make this tribute commonplace. For me Rafi Saheb defined the thresholds of melody. His engaging and pure voice and emotions made inspiring hearing. To this day a shiver passes through when you hear "Kar chale hum fida jaano tan saathiyon, ab tumhare hawale watah saathiyon".
Rafi Saheb, you have made music more meaningful. Thanks for enriching the world.
Though 26 years have passed since we lost Raffisaab giving us melodious songs again, He will definately remain immortal to all of us through his variety of touching songs. I particularly like his following songs 1. Na kissi ki ankha ka noor hoon 2. Lagta nahin hey dil mera 3. O door ke musafir 4. Roshan tumhi se duniya 5. Kis ko khabar thi, is o yankeen tha 6. Suhani raat dhal chuki, Na jane tum kab aaoge 7. Man re kahe na dhir dhare 8. Raha gardisho me hardam Duets like a. Dil ne phir yaad kiya b. Woh jab yaad aye, Bahot yaad aye c. Isharo isharo me dil dene vale
I cannot forget Rafisab's most of the songs. At least two times in a day I have to hear his song, especially his emotional songs. He is the only one who can sing in a different mood. He is no more now but his golden voice is still in my mind. No one can compete him.
A while back, I heard that Radfi Saab's grave in the Punjab does not even have a market. I hope this is not true. If it is, shame on India, especially the post-1947 generation! - gg
Probably the greatest film music singer India has produced. Even now, after 30 years, I continue to listen to his music everyday. I don't understand the meaning of the lyrics of his songs, but the golden voice is so pleasing with the right amount of everything, emotion, melody and the machotone that it truly stays in your heart and makes you hear his numbers agian and again...
MOHD RAFISAAB to me is the 'SUN OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM OF MUSIC.. he is like a most prolific teacher to those who pursue music as their career..people from all categories relate themselves to rafisaab's songs...rafisaab could sing like a soldier- 'kar chale ham fida jaan-o-tan sathiyo'..he could quickly turn into a sai baba bhakt & recite 'sainath tere hazaron naam' or 'shirdiwale sai baba'..he could metamorphose himself into a pandit & sing 'man tarpat hari darshan ko' & 'sukh ke sab sathi'..he could turn into an ardent lover & sing 'jo baat tujhme hain ,teri tasveer mein nahi' & 'jo wada kiya woh nibhana padega'...he could anytime become ur best friend & sing 'meri dosti mera pyar'...rafisaab could change his singing style within few minutes & camouflage it into any style be it romance, ghazal, quawali,bhajans,thumri,classical,folk,comedy,sad,patriotic,etc..i was disappointed when i saw on a news channel that rafisaab's cementry was in terrible condition..does a person like rafisaab who has given life to indian music deserves such a behavior!!i hope the people concerned wake up and give rafisaab his due...in the end i think god took away the best 4 himself & left the rest for us...
I shall always remember Rafi Saab what ever he sing it\'s fantastic we mis him always, may be we found some time his voice shadow in M.Aziz, Anwar, Shabir, now Sonu but Rafi Saab is Rafi.
