Really Great!!!!
There is GOD and after that there is MOHAMMED RAFI.
Rafisahab had a voice that had everything for everybody. It was like cold water Hot water Boiling water flowing water It could throw Flowers Stones Bullets It helped Meeting friends Meeting life partners Creating love for Nation
Mohammed Rafi...one name which immediately brings tremendous respect for the great singer. Such a great singer whoes singing was flawless in all ways. Give him any song and he did wonders with it. How he would literally put himself in the song was evident in all his songs be it Shammi Kapur, Johny Walker, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra or Rishi Kapur. He has a song for all human emotions..be it love, sadness, drunkenness, happiness etc. His voice ranged right from classical to light singing and bhajans. He also sang in a number of Indian languages only showed how deeply he was into music where language did not make a difference to him. I think just as some of the people are made only once by God like Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Lata Mangeskar so also Mohammed Rafi. There will never be one like him again. I consider myself fortunate to have lived in his era.
he will always be alive in our hearts. his voice was unique and still is. people are able to imitate kishores voice or any other singers voice but rafi's voice cannot be copied. he will alawys be a legend . i dont have word to express my feelings .....cuz its just magnificent
First,a slight correction to your introduction. While Rafi did sing for Kishore in the films you mentioned, he did not sing for Talat himself in Lala Rookh,a film where Talat played hero to Shyama. The Rafi song "Hai kali kali ke lab par" was not picturised on Talat, but on an actor called "Majnu" who often played comedy roles during the time. This song, written by Kaifi Azmi, was set to music by Khaiyyaam.Anyway, this is not to detract from Rafi's greatness. There will remain only one Rafi, despite the clones. While he sang with equal dedication and sincerity for all composers and actors,I feel he put extra effort for SD Burman.I guess because Dada Burman was the only composer who used Kishore often as his main singer, ence Rafi was more motivated to prove his mettle.Whichever way,it was all to the benefit of us listeners. He is also particularly remembered for his great output with Roshan,SJ,LP,OP Nayyar,Madan Mohan and of course,Naushad. I'll try and select the tip of the master singer's iceberg. Din Dhal Jaye, Dil Jo Na Keh Saka, Unke Khayaal Aaye, Hui Shaam Unka Khayaal Aa Gaya, Aanchal Mein Saja Lena Kaliyaan, Main Nigahen Tere Chehre Se Hathaaoon Kaise, Madhuban Mein Radhika.
Mohammad Rafi - the greatest singer ever!! Nobody could compare him. My favorite songs: Aane se uske aaye bahar; likhe jo khat tujhe, Chaand mera dil, khoya khoya chaand.
