Omkara is a great movie. Vishal Bharadwaj makes a good Indian adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello. The performances are great. Ajay, Saif,Kareena and Konkona are brilliant in the movie. Ajay is perfectly cast as the intense, brooding protagonist Omkara. He once again proves that he's the best in Bollywood as far as intense roles are concerned and adds another milestone in his list of hardhitting, intense roles (Bhagat Singh,Gangaajal, Apaharan etc). Kareena is excellent as Dolly, whose dedicated and loyal to Omkara . Konkona is very good. Saif Ali Khan is a pleasant surprise. In a role that is so unlike him and his cool, urban image (HumTum, Salaam Namaste), he is rivetting as Langda Tyagi. He's comical and devilish. Its a great movie. I just hope our audiences become mature and intelligent and broaden their horizons beyond candyfloss movies and masala movies and accept a masterpiece like Omkara.
2/3 of movie is good. Dialogues , screenplay are done well but the last part (ending) is stupid. I am not used to see a natural story in theaters. It should have some masala ending. Killing everyone is something that i cant digest..
There is another better adaptation of Othello. This is Malayalam. Film is Kaliyattam, Othello was played by Suresh Gopi, who won the national award for this acclaimed movie.

I think you didnt read the review. The reviewer has already mentioned about the Malyalam movie.
good movie with exceptional performance by all lead actors specially saif. could have been bit shorter as the second half is too long and gets boring. all u guys just stop all this nonsense stuff and let the people go an enjoy the movie. there is rarely any good stuff coming and ur stupid rewiews might kill the thing.
I am very impressed by the way film has been adapted. This film has brought out the best from every actor and especially from Saif Ali Khan has done a role which can win him a national award and omkara's character has been potrayed at its very best by Ajay Devgan. The music of the film is also appreciable especially songs like O SAATHIE RE and The Theme Song. The director has done a fabulous job.Hats off to u sir, u made us see the other side of love and violence. A 5 STAR MOVIE..keep it up
OK I did catch the movie..its all abt performances and one man stands out..Saif aka Langda Tyagi. There is no entertainment as such and I can see many sections of the audiences might not like it or get bored..I found da movie intresting and diff..but dint really njoi it as such...overall its ok..but the performances rock..specially saif and I should also mentiona Konkana sen..gr8 actress..but saif runs the show here..the way he manipulates Omkara's mind..I found dat awesome..and couple of his scenes vth that newcomer wudnt be forgotten till a long time to come..I cant think of ne1 in dis world fuhget India..I mean world doing a better job vth Langda Tyagi and those scenes I just mentioned...Best work..worth watching once but is a heavy dose since the movie has absolutely no entertainment side...
