Dear Mr. Kamat,
I read your message on this thread and I must say I was a bit surprised. I couldn't disagree more. Although my reply doesn't include Britney- all I can say is before you can say "oops" she will be interested in Buddhism for that matter.
Now regarding being Hinduism being the mother of all religion and quoting Swami Vivekananda. Well if you can get hold of the transcript of his speech in Chicago (and I actually did once), he specifically mentioned that every religion thinks its perfect and that is not the case.
As a matter of fact, I also got hold of the original recording of his speech from the net. So before you quote someone illustrous like him, better get your facts straight.

To Mr. Prasad,
We should not question the sanctity of other religions- we have no right to do that.

It has been really pleasing to note that the folks of the west have begun to appreciate the religious values of the eastern world. I only hope this narrows the scope for conflicts in the name of religion and make this world a better place to live in.

Well done! Britney.

Hinduism is the only relegion which has the highest degree of tolerance than any other relegion.
Hinduism is never forced upon nor forced others to convert to.
Hinduism accepts all relegions, because it believes that all Gods are the same but worshipped in different forms.
Hinduism finds a co-relation with all other relegious thoughts.

Yeah Britney was the female sheepdog and I was the male dog that did dirty things to her!;)

I like so many other people believe that it takes a lifetime to understand hinduism. Hinduism is not a fad that can be picked upon by anybody and one just cant become a Hindu just by reading a holy book. Oh well, to each his(or her) own!

After enjoying life at its fullest at such a young age, religion was the only thing she would have tempted to.

You have no idea about hinduism nor about other religions.

I cant believe someone can worship a work of stone. As far as Spears is concerned, she is not a great person you or your sister should emulate. ta ta

did you say "restless mind invents or discovers something". well, just think on this and maybe if possible try it!

Just calm down and try not to get even "one thought" in your mind. it should be perfectly blank. see if you can achieve for just 2 secs.

it's the drive to do something or a mere wish or will that gives rise to inventions or discoveries, and not a "restless mind".

you cannot see the bottom of pond when the water is disturbed even by one small ripple (thought in this case), you have to make the water still (blank mind)

that's the secret of yog or meditation.

also, Swami Vivekanand has compared all major religions, when he had gone to Chicago for the Religions meet. Just read that.

And regarding the base of other religions, it is vastly and mostly "borrowed from Hinduism". and i am sure of that.

The cristians in India should now understand the meaning of this & should know why more & more Europians & Americans are accepting Hinduism; its just because they consider the peace of mind more important and which can be achieved theough Hinduism only.

Mr. Prasad, You must understand that if you are born in a bakery, you do not become a bun!
What I am trying to say is that Britney was born to Christian parents but that does not make her a Christian. You've got to read the Bible to understand that. You are a Christian only when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. It is a matter of choice. It is not inherited. You either choose to have a relationship with Jesus Christ or you don't.

Britney is NOT a Christian and so are the fellows from Europe and America you have mentioned. They might be born into Christian families, they might have Christian names but they are NOT Christians. You have got a wrong idea in your head that makes you believe that anything western is Christian.

Prasad,
Im a Christian born in India and presently stay in US. What I learned in my life is Christianity is not about religion, but it is about the relationship you have with Jesus Christ. Though I was born in a christian home, I wasnt a true christian until I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. When you are enjoying the pleasures of this world it is hard to live a life of a christian. Thats why many westerners search for other religions and beliefs.
I am sad to say this, but many people have this opinion that "Christians always try to force their religion or try to convert people to their religion". But it is not the case. They just share the love of God they experienced in their life. It is like, when u see a good movie or try a new restaurant u immediately tell to ur friends and u want them to enjoy the same experience u had. U do it out of love. Thats the same way we share the love of Christ and we want others to experience the same joy and happiness. It is purely out of love.

Okay,

Did you find any really smart Europian/American scientist accepting Hinduism?

Peace of mind is good, but it takes a restless mind to really invent or discover something.

Which is why Indians always look to the west for opportunities in terms of Jobs, Investments and technologies, because they (Indians) realised religion won't feed you.

Well Prasad,
You need to get your facts straight. Lot of Americans and Europeans are becoming aethist & if some of them are turning to hinduism is just because they are amused by it. If you don't know much about Christainity and its fundamentals then maybe you should read the Bible instead of saying that the christains of India should now understand why celebs like Brittany spears who let alone has no values of Christainity or of any other religion for that matter. Especially being an Indian of this generation I would suggest that you should not think of one religion being superior then the other until you KNOW IT ALL ABOUT ALL RELIGIONS.
