well...seems like the west is showing more interest and adaptation towards hinduism and its cultures. recently, i was returning from California and was amazed to see a white lady sitting diagnolly from me reading baghwatgeeta. not only that, there was a concert by pandit ravi shankar and i was amazed to see more americans than indians. infact...thanks to britney for making it even more popular..

Britney & Hinduism
by Shankar on Feb 01, 2006 12:10 AM

Hinduism is the only religion that is refreshingly different from the closed Semitic dogmas of Christianity and Islam. Millions are now fed up with those hate mongering religions and want a way out of that narrowness into spirituality. Hinduism should aggressively promoted so the world can be saved from these murderous doctrines.

Belief in Hinduism -- CRAP
by Panduranga on Jan 31, 2006 10:44 PM  | Hide replies

Its funny to know someone can actually leave behind the belief of one God and start going after like thousands of Gods to please.
Its hilarious to know she believes she was a sheep, hahahahaha. She must have tasted awful and probably didnt have any fur, thats why she doesnt wear clothes in this 'janam'.
Britney please dont go from bad to worse!!!!!!

Hinduism, to me is all encompassing. Its not only a relegious belief but its a way of life. Its great to see that hindus are sheding their age-old parochial mentality and gracefully welcoming people from other religions into this. I have friend here in US who was a christian but later converted to hinduism through "Hare krisna". Anyways its always good to see these kinds of things. Each and every religion tends to convert and its high time that we also do so for our own sake as well as for others.

Hi Debroop.

Dear Debroop Sarkar,

For that matter of getting hold of the "original transcripts" in Chicago, i beleive he didn't just speak in U.S.. And I know the facts about Swami Vivekanand, I am not quoting blankly.

Maybe you should read the books of Swami Vivekanand. I am not aware if there is English translation, but the marathi one is called "Swami Vivekanand" and there are 24 volumes (adyay). Try reading them.

Sameer.
