Copying is equal to bollywood
by Acer on Jan 20, 2006 08:34 PM

Evry one in bollywood thinks peoples watching their film in india is a fool. With star movies and hbo in their home do you think they will come to theatre to watch the remakes. Why the hell the bollywood is aping western culture. Every film is now stylishly ( Westernised ) made not for residents of india but for NRI\\\'S (the guys in bollywood say\\\'s so). I have become sick of watching even the ads of hindi films in print media there is no indian touch to it. (every hero comes in full raymonds suit) and heroins come in dresses that people in india havent even seen or heard them before in their life time. I think bollywood needs more paheli, parineeta or lagaan like movies rather than stupid copycat\\\'s. show indians not NRI\\\'S (keep the bet on one billion peoples rather then small no of nri\\\'s). Stop slick or stylish production give good cinema with indian touch. Feel proud to be indians dont show american style in indian film. Show reality !.

Zindaa!!!
by Dr Prashant Gupta on Jan 20, 2006 08:06 PM

Hello dear Raja.
I appreciate your flowery English, in describing the movie or rather I shall say describing the director's character!!
But I would rather find it difficult to take in opinions from a person( Who is nominated as a film critic!!)who says Shahrukh is a brilliant actor and 'The Rising' wasn't good at all and so on!!!
But good luck mate. You surely making some good money bongo!!
Cheers!!!

Zinda.... a crap
by Ramji on Jan 20, 2006 08:01 PM

Well said Raja. As long as we have jokers like Sanjay Gupta, the remake industry will live and die forever. Have these people no shame?

Watch Zinda
by Vineet on Jan 20, 2006 08:00 PM

I don't agree with the article. I feel Zinda is a
good attempt.
Viewers should decide on their own after watching
the movie.

Stop your Nonsense

Why sholud you want to impose ur thought on every one. What if some one known person write article about rediff and about u that Its worst things to read. Its going to negative impact. Even people copy Movie from another movie let them watch. There are some movie that copied from another movie. But those are hits and performance wise good. So many people makes movie on Novel base. So do we call it copied Might be you have seen oldboy but follower of your great thought may be not. Y do u want to tell them that u are not going to watch movie. So please just do ur job to review. not your personal opinions.
Thanks

Dear Mr. Sen
by Anurag on Jan 20, 2006 06:50 PM

Dear Mr. Sen,

So simple! Isn't it??!! Ripping apart something just like that. Sharing the views is ok but forcing your opinion is hara-kiri.
Ok Zinda is a direct cut to cut copy of this Korean movie Oldboy. But who cares? I will give more money to see Sanjay and John creating magic on screen uttering Hindi rather than watch some unknown Koreans with English subtitles.
How many movies in Hollywood are inspired by Japanese or Chinese movies? Countless..! How many are taken from novels, books, biographies...?? In hundreds..! Originality is a very misconstrued term. Zinda as a movie from now on might inspire movies which could venture into territories which were alien so far. Cruel and gory movies would be made which might not be blatant copies but originals. But when you make such a movie (read Zinda) for the first time then you also need to walk on a tried and trusted formula. Next time originality will walk in.
So my advice-----GO WATCH ZINDA
And do remember that the most unconfused person on earth was after all called Confucius :-)

Regards
I remain,
Truly
Anurag Sharma

Zinda ROCKS ! Your comments DON'T !
by El Diablo on Jan 20, 2006 06:47 PM

Zinda was awesome... I just don't understand you critics. If a well-made copy works, you rave and rant about it. But you're okay with a regional remake like someone pointed out. Strange!!!!!! Please review only movies you like in the future in that case... the rest of us thought it was one of the better and good movies of this year Mr. Sen. I'd rather pay for such movies than a usual standard boy meets girl with hundred songs climaxing into a messy fight movie!
