Raja Sen is right. The only reason these big names (especially Akshay Kumar and Raj Kumar Santoshi) decided to do the film is because they were offered large amounts of cash.
Judging by the box office performance of Family, I would say Raja Sen's review is accurate that this movie sucks big time.
What a stupid Review?? REDIFF pls TAKE OUT RAJA SEN FROM YOUR REVIEWERS POST. I have decided not to read his reviews any more. I saw the movie yesterday. Its full time pass and fast paced movie will leave you asking for more. Its full of terrific action and amazing acting.
If a guy is a news journalist, he has to be unbiased about various political parties..only a common man has right to like or dislike any particular party..but imagine what if particular news channel or journalist start showing a particular party as the best, hiding its errors and start showing the rest as bad?
The problem with this guy is that he is like the same as mentioned above..he openly says that: 1)Hrithik doesnt know how to act and only foolish fans go to watch him in Koi Mil gaya. 2)Ajay devgan stands nowhere in stardom 3)Big B playing Gabbar in RGV's Sholay is unmigitated disaster and he advises BigB not to be overconfident.. 4)Declares Amir khan as most overrated actor (see his redif chat highlights) 5)even declares that SRK will outshine BigB in future(see rediff chat)
There is nothing wrong being an SRK fan and talking against the other actors...but only when you do this in rediff reader's section..not in the journalist section..this is an insult to journalism if one just blindly criticising others n raising question on their talent and prasing another inspite of the fact that others r also talented...God save rediff and its crap shitty reviewer like RajaSen
If you see his reveiew of Ramji London waale ..he describes the guest appearence of big B as "a bad promo of KBC"
Its true that in "family", the performance of big B was not outstanding but still it was ok and he dominated in the climax portion. Also a major portion of film was without his dubbing...But this crap fellow says that Big B never delivered..as if Big B should come to him and ask him about acting skills...not only that he went one step further and advised Big B how to use his face to act properly as if Big B should ask him about the ABCD of acting skills...
He thinks that readers are fools and they cant understand his dirty intentions that he has in his mind...but he should also know that just by writing off about Big B is not going to serve his purpose to degrade him as no one in the history of indian cionema able to survive so long and its not going to affect his popularity....
If you see his review in paheli he calls Big B role's as outstanding but thats only bcoz it was an SRK film and SRK was producer..Had someone else been producer he could have again easily given some personal comments regarding Big Bs action, his dress or his acting skills..More to come.
i thnik ab is greater then any one and here family his perfomance is too good . and movie is also fine. i think review is form SRK group. but we know then sun is always shine like ab (noted) and srk like "udi hui light". dont west your time like that and raja will be now start a bachha story like srk.

I have been noticing very clearly that the only motive of this guy is to put Big B down at any cost...if you guys are unfortunate to read his biased views , look what he says about BIG B:
According to this crap reviewer :
1) Big B hamming in Black and SRK having thespian abilities..(see his article"paheli better than black" and see how he compares the acting of these two actors)
2)In sarkar, the character of Big B was of cardboard type...I
3)Big B hamming in Waqt (please notice how easliy he uses the word "hamming" for Big B....) ..just see his article "worst movies of 2006" ...also i would like to have attention of rediff readers that this crap reviewer could have easily included "black" in hs worst films of 2006...but he knew what response he is going to get, so very cleverly he included "waqt" in the list and said that Big B was hamming in it....
Not only that, in a motive to put down Big B, he declared every actor in Black as best except Big B (which according to him was hamming in Black) ...

I do agree with you Delhicop. this reviewer always talks crap! and if he wants to talk about BIG B , first he needs to reach his level to understand his acting skills. he is still a "SRK" class kiddo.

From Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand.... to Shahid Kapoor...etc. Bahut Aaaye, bahut gaye. Big B ko koi hila na saka. This kind of crappy reviews does not divert any Bachchan fans. We will still fill the theatre in his every release. Redif censors all reviews those praises Bachchan or his films. They publish only the bad ones. SRK-ka film aise hit nehi honewala. Shame........ People already lost trust in this kind of yellow journalism. FAMILY is great movie. Period.
Raja, Gaja, if you did not get a job elsewhere and end up being in rediff, you don't have to be angry on Bachchan films. I know you will write "O my God what a movie SRK has done" before even viewing them and before the release of Don or Kabhi Alvida... You are biased and proved that you are a SRK fan. You can start acting as well and I can guarantee you will act better than your Hucklebury Guru.
FAMILY is technically a perfect movie. Excellent acting by everybody and very intelligent direction by Rajkumar Santoshi. All the songs Choreography was excellent. What more do we want?

This is with reference to the film reviews written by your critic Mr. Raja Sen. Having read many writers in the past several years, undoubtedly he is the queerest of them all. After all not many reviewed Paheli calling it 'breathtaking' and as most people would agree it turned out to be anything but that. Of course as a critic one has a right to say express his or her opinion but at the same time one expects some semblance and logic to justify. Recently I saw Family and it was no where as bad as Mr. Raja Sen made it to be. He also called it Raj Kumar Santoshis worst film. Obviously he hasnt seen China gate. But the icing on the cake is the fact that rediff has a critic is that also dares suggest to Amitabh Bachchan what kind of faces he should make and I quote just a suggestion -- perhaps you shouldn't contort your face as much every time you pull the trigger. You end up looking a lot less Sean-Connery-cool than you obviously want to Am glad Satyajit Ray isnt alive else Mr. Raja Sen would have offered him some tips as well on how to make films. Kidhar se pakad ke laye isko maloon nahin.
