Gullu, just stop writing!
by Romeo on Dec 27, 2006 11:02 AM

Gullu,

It's better to you to stop writing like this. Do you know what Director Priyadarshan told about this film? He said 'keep your brain at home and go to watch this movie'. Also Gullu, keep your crooked brain away from South Indian film people.

poor remake
by vash on Dec 27, 2006 12:20 AM

This movie is a poor remake of tamil and malayalam movies. Actually the story is a mixture of two films in which one was comedy and other a thriller. The thriller was directed by priyadarshan himself which was much better with nice songs. Good that priyadarshan thought that this much is enough to rake moolahs in bollywood.

Why they are wrong:
by saurabh on Dec 26, 2006 09:20 PM

However, Mr Singh chose this profession and should be competent enough not to let the regular mindless torture blur his vision. You should consider your audience. Mr Singh your reader is an average guy who doesnt get free passes of international film festivals etc. and doesnt know much about unfolding digital media scene. He/she had a hard day at work and movie is pure escapism for himjust a few hours of pure fun. So, please step down from your high journalistic pedestal and put yourself into ordinary guys shoe and write a review.

The Great Indian film critics
by Saurabh on Dec 26, 2006 09:19 PM

I consider myself an avid bollywood fan. Now that I live out of country I am fortunately exposed to different kind cinemas. However, I think the critics are right and wrong the way the review a movie.

Ill address both views: Why they are right:

If you look at international cinema (not Hollywood, try Iran, Australia, Japan etc.), and you compare it with Indian cinema in general, trust me, Indian viewers should be rewarded for tolerating the trash they go through every week. The bar of good quality cinema is really low in India. If that was not the case, Dhoom 2 should have been removed from the screen before the end of first week. But, give us one good feature in a filn, in case of Dhoom 2-- Mr Roshan, and the movie will be a hit. It doesnt matter if it is a totally senseless cinema.

Now, you consider a guy like Mr Gullu Singh who has to sit through all of that trash week after week. He is bound to turn a bit cynical about them.

Pathetic
by Sameer Iyer on Dec 26, 2006 04:36 PM

Besides Akshay and a few islands of genuine comedy, this movie is a crap. Absoutely pathetic direction and poor performances from the rest of the crew (including the great Paresh Rawal).

Priyadarshan sucks ! High time he produces something with conviction. This movie reminds you of a David Dhawan era - cheap and despicable.

And Govinda should retire from films. He is back to raise his popularity numbers before the next general elections, but if this is how he plans to do it, I fear he might fail. He should better spend time in his constituency, otherwise people might once again print the posters about their M.P. gone missing.

Bhaagam bhag a ultimate laugh riot
by Girish Panchal on Dec 26, 2006 04:05 PM

The movie is good and is a different comedy movie. Akshay is best and gets good support from Govinda, Paresh and Rajpal. Though it is a comedy by error like priyan's previous movie i never felt bore while watching this movie and i was laughing automatically like the other audiences. Good movie. Highly recommended to see atleast once.
