Priyadarshan is one of the best director in the cinefield.Almost all the movies are superhit especially with Mohanlal he is doing wonders, let this continue
It's true, he normally re-makes the ones already made in Malayalam; some times, it clicks and some times it doesn't. But, overall percentage of success rate is 70% which is pretty good by any standards.
Only one advice to him - do not stick to the same genre of actors, but according to the character, actor has to be chosen. He may be in comfort zone withb Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and no doubt they are brilliant, but still more such brilliant actors are there in Hindi Film industry, Priyan, are u listening..............
Hey shyba,,,,i personally know you and am aware that u r termed as a half nut by your best friends....so this comes as no surprise to me espcially...guess who?????
Gentlmen Priyadarshan is not at all a good director for these kind of messages. There are good directors making waves in indian film industry at the international level. Priyan told that his movie (Kalapani) is the best of his. If you see that movie you can realise his limits. With the support from good script writers (like Sreenivasan) he became to this level. And for hindi movie standard , you don't require rocket science kind of knowledge to make a successfull movies. Ofcourse there are good movies coming up in hindi and regional langauges, but those movies are not at all considered at the national level. Those movies are identified at the international level. For eg: Baba saheb Ambedkar :-) . It is yet to release ....
So I think let us have a full stop for priyadarshan and talk about good directors like TV Chandran, Few debutants in tamil
Priyadarshan is a lucky man. Starting as a part-time comedy skit writer in Trivandrum All India Radio in late 70s, he forayed into film scripts, mainly in comedy films enacted by his buddies Mohanlal, Raju, Jagdeesh etc. Quickly he moved into direction, from there to re-making business in Hindi, from the big Malayalam hits.
Barring Virasat all his works in Hindi smacks of the regional taste and speaks loud about his stagnation as a film maker and inability to make it big with orginal scripts in Hindi. He compromises a lot on casting; there is always a role for Sunil Shetty mostly in characters that will never gel with that muscle man, example is Eey mera khar.
Priyadarshan is more of a product of some friendship groups or clicks that one mostly see in media business. Less said the better about original contribution in enrichment of standards or tastes. Priyan is at best an assembler and never a creator.
