Hmmm, I think the reviewer is a total (hindi) oldies buff and considers any adaptation sacrilegious. I like oldie numbers too, but I think this adaptation of DON by SEL is immensely enjoyable - better than the original, in my opinion. Ofcourse, "aaj ki raat" - an original, beats all other numbers hands-down - one of the best tracks to have come out this year. If you havent gotten your hands on the CDs/cassettes yet, I suggest you do, ignoring this "trying to be hatke" review by rediff!
This is a stupid music review! And I am conviced the reviewer has no sense of modern music and creative experimentation.
Don is a mindblowing album that is in perfect sync with today's sensibilities and taste. It is a wonderful and perfect tribute to the music of the original DON, keeping in mind the pulse of this generation.
Shankar-Ehsan-Loy have proved their mettle in yet another Farhan Akhtar flick. The music of DON is fascinating and is successful in generating enormous curiosity for the movie... it is also a glimpse to what is going to hit Bollywood on October 20.
