I do not claim that Karan Johar has made a path breaking movie, he has not done it before either. He has still the same cliches involved, but your review is way too convoluted.
I do not think it is Srk's fault if his character is sketchy, it was now ay meant to gain sympathy, and in fact if people still did, that speaks volumes abot how much Srk is liked..by the 'junta'.
Even in Darr, where he was noway a good man, people liked him and empathised with him more than with SUnny.
Trust me on this, Abhi, Rani and Preity have done a greta job in an otherwise mediocre movie, But It is Srk;'s movie again..
You remove SRk out of this movie, it would be a cropper....
Thats the magic of someone who lives shines in repetitive and mediocre films too.. So much for the brouhaha, do you think it would have worked with some1 else playing Dev, or even ABhishek Playing dev??
kank is adiffrent story which does not describe about indian culture. u do not accept the same filmy drama like k3g,ddlj,kkhh.the young director karan johar sees the other side of indian film industry.if we do not accept ,r its a naturan outcome of the common people.but atleast appreciate the work of all stars and karan.its al about movie.
I agree totally with your opinion about sharukh's,abhishek's and amithabh's acting in the movie. I almost ran out of the theatre in the first 45 mins due to sharukh khan. However, 1). What's wrong if sharukh says 'Football' instead of 'Soccer'? I still say 'football' when I talk to fellow-indians,I guess sharukh was talking to other indian characters in the movie...frankly I hate calling that so-called 'american football' as 'football'.
2). Rani not being justified for cheating abhishek? But isn't it plain from the beginning itself that she didn't really love abhishek..? I think karan johar just want to convey that no marital-relationship can exist without love..even if the husband/wife are good human-beings.
The editor must have gone asleep while watching the movie. Karan why did you stop for 3:30 hrs ..you could have gone more ...and included ideas from your next film..that wouldnt have made much difference... As far as i am concerned I have said alvida for all your next films
Kiran, to be honest with you, I've had more fun reading your review than watching the movie. I laughed more, loved Abhishek more, envied Priety more, hated Sharukh more and more importantly I did not cry and have $9.50 extra bucks in my purse.
This is by far the shortest and the most accurate review for the the tortuous experience of watching KANK. Good job.... I hope Karan reads it and learns something from it. This movie may be a hit due to first week box office collections, but I hope people wont be so curious next time around.
