Yes a complete failure as you never bother for the essence of a movie.Why dont you watch some of the Satyajit Ray,Mrinal sen,Govind Nihalani,Basu Bhattacharya,Shekhar Kapur,Girish Karnad,Hrishikesh Mukherjee,Guru Dutt movies, what they want to tell and how they tell...God because of film makers like you the value of quality movies are dead in India and where writers like Tagore once got noble prizes and the way Ray justified his stories on screen ,the future generarion will never see another Ray reflecting another great story (cry over the modern Davdas)...But dont worry your movie will make lots of money...
Mr Karan Johar, Please stop making movies.Your movies can appeal a huge mass in India and can make crores of movies as in our country we have different class of viewers like who go to see the face of the hero (however as a film maker you must know the defition of hero,need not be a cute guy or handsome man) and heroin, see dance and song (which is most unnecessary parts,makes a story so unrealistic on screen,the part of the movie for which I am ashamed to show the movie to my non Indian frieds,and also the main reason we never get an oscar),the designers dresses that they wear (another pathetic thing),the jewellery (as if they are on the fashion show),those idiotic rona dhona,the same monotonous boring performances of your favorite so called super star (where are the days when Nasiruddin,Om puri etc were working...),and above all the same kind of story that you have to tell people(fall in love,la la la)wow... that makes a super duper Karan Johar movie.Yes you will again make thousand crored money.And your artists will bag best actor,actress awards,and best movie and best direcots trophies will make their way towards your bunglow but ...but you are a complete failure in my eyes.
Mr Karan Johar, I have seen your film KANK. All through the movie i was wondering if you know what marriage is. Well, i strongly believe KANK is the story of two fools, two people who are not optimists, who suffer from this inferiority complex and who can never undertsand and become good life parteners. Shahrukh khan's role was so irritating and the same was Rani mukherjee's. I appreciate that you have dared to take tough subject, BUT, not in a proper way. The two roles should be more sensible enough. There should be something else that make them not to like their life partners. You should atleast tell in the movie, more clearly that Rani mukherjee has made a mistake in the beginning by accepting marriage proposal even though she is not interested. Remember, there was no one who forced her, and ofcourse she is living in New York. Well, there are a lot many flaws in the story, and stupid too
And one more thing, I'm sure you know that movies are the first and the most influencing media in this world. So, your movie should be more communicating and should have more morals and let ppl know what marriage is, you can easily do this because, u r ofcourse a very good and famous directo
kran sounds like a pretentious man to me....he said that the critics gave his KANK good reviews as we care....all i can see is that the audiand has cursed it!
Karan johar has led us down..I still could not understand the fact that karan in his interview said the movie was about why people look for love outside the marriage.. he forgot to state this that even though your husband/wife loves you.. you should still go and have a extra marital affair. Nomatter how wrong u are u should still point fingers at your spouse and say they r wrong and have an affair. 1.u should get married for the heck of it and never love your husband even if he loves u more than anything. 2.u should never be career oriented and even if your wife is ready to talk to you amd make it work u should ignore it and go ahead and have an affair.
On what basis did karan johar make such a movie. It was such a disappointment here in the UK. People normally rejoice and come out of the theatre while here people were waiting to get out and when this whole crap would finish. the movie was a disaster.never to watch such crap and waste money. There are other things in life we could waste cash on or give away as a cause.Please somebody tell karan johar that extra marital affairs happen NOT when your spouse loves you a lot or that when your spouse wants the wedding to work.
So Mr. Johar, If you don't believe in Marriage institution why don't you keep it to yourself why are you misguiding the whole generation of Indian public. Just bcoz you've lots of money doesn't mean you should make such pathetic and unethical movies. Use that money for some good cause just cancelling premier doesnt make much difference.

i think the people who r saying karan is hopelesss....and this message is specially for those who r saying that srk must be given roles like apahran,gangajal...for ur very kind info. just try n give ajay a role like what srk had in kkhh...k3g...swades...khnh...ddlj...n kank...he wont be able to do that...i knw that srk has let us down in his movie this time...but sometimes even a best actor can make mistakes...i knw kank is not the best but its certainly not the worst...i think it was a good subject...but not well treated by kj...but hats offf to him to bring this subject in front of the narrow minded indian audience...hope that kj will be bak at his best agn...n srk n rani r the best...ok...n no one is their compititor except mr.bachchan...so better respect srk..he has given us so many good memorable movies n its not gud to criticize him bcoz of just one movie.
A big yawn,only Amitabh shines, rani was okay kiran was ok preity was soso, shahrukh was hopeless looked old and same type of acting is now making him another sridevi who was lately in her career was rembered for her making faces. Yes Abhishek is good in good form. the movie lacked good script unlike kabhi kushikabhi gam the movie is is bore and it was difficult to sit altogether for more than 3 hours. a big let down. I must admit I loved Silsila and would watch that film all over again instead to this one.

Yes vinayak, I think the same i.e. Shahrukh's monotoneous acting and a story line always created for him, I challange Shahrukh if he can ever do a file like Apaharan or Gangajal or Zakhm. Never he can do in next million years.
backwas! a fellow who does not have any belief over marrige system would make films like this only. these sort of films give wring signals to the society.one two cases of this sort might be happening in the society if you bring all those nonsense onto the public stage, it is not advisable. difinitely this is not a watchable movie.

I dont believe this film is depicting the tales of those one or two cases. It is just a generic topic of how man is a selfish entity. There is nothing called unconditional love and no human being is perfect. After seeing this movie, a couple should feel thankful towards each other that they are not cheating themselves. FYI... I am not a great KJ fan as well. But I respect his creativity or for that matter any film maker's.
Is the institution of marriage so frivolous that you can walk out of it without so much as a shrug? What was wrong with SRK-Prety's marriage that he had to look elsewhere, ditto with Rani-Abhishek... The film fails to explore a "bold" theme sensitively. Why do people indulge in extra marital affairs, is a difficult question to answer...All Karan does is make a wishy washy film passing it of as new age cinema.
