why Bipasha??
by aarti on Aug 14, 2006 07:07 PM

It is an irony that the actress had to face this...

however why Bipasha?? for the Independence day?

are there no Heros of Independence in our country? who can be better role models on this I day?

The choice itself was wrong...one shud have called upon common people who has witnessed the I struggle and remind people that Bhagat Singh and alike were martyrs at the age of 23, when they cud have easily taken up some job and survived!!!

A female anatomy can sell many things...but not arouse the Independence Day emotions.i call this I day celebrations as a Farce serving no purpose.

So the Business committee shud not feel Hurt as the Intention behind this I day celebrations were themselves not real...

Let the I day celebrations not be merely a show of strength in the USA , but instill the JASBAA (feelings) of being a TRUE Hindustani.

Call some secular Spiritual GURU, eg: SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR, or Science Research scholars to instill among the america born desi children to take up Science and do something for our country!!

Our country needs Spirituality & Science to progress..coz the rest is already available in India.

So next time think Better before the I day celebrations

Bipasha must continue to fight
by Bids on Aug 14, 2006 06:37 PM  | Hide replies

To those people who think that Indian women can be bought and sold like cattle shame on you, god willing you will burn in hell; it's a shame that the Indian Busieness community who invited Bipasha is trying to play down the harrasment issue.People who have harrased Bipasha must be brought to justice and should be publicly lashed, their face should be blackend, and head shaved. To Bipasha, don't give up, it is time for you to stand up for yourself and above all dignity of women.

Bipasha, dont give up but continue your crusade against injustice and insult. We appreciate and respect your courageous stand. The guilty must be punished. It is indeed shocking that a guest is treated in this matter by the very organisers.

I think Bids is just making furious comments because a woman was harassed without seeing the other part of the woman and what has really happened.

I can only blame the organisers for inviting a sultry actress for the Independence Day parade. A woman, who sheds clothes, leading a parade which marks the struggle and sacrifice of many Indians for independence has put all Indians to shame. What kind of speech will she deliver? About her latest films and heroes and about John Abraham in a Independence Day parade? Bullshit.

Did the organisers compared her to Gandhi who shed clothes for the country?

Organisers, abroad and in India, should first learn to select appropriate person not just a celebrity for such national functions.

Just because of bipasha's professions or the type of acterss she is,she should not be treated like that. It doesn't matter why the orginizers brought her to speak, which is by the way very obvious, she or any women should not be treated like this.

I am wondering on the organizers' motivation of inviting Bipasha for such a cerimony. She is famous for shedding cloths, but what else? Things will go bad when the motivation itself is bad...

Sad plight of Indians in US.The very reason that she got late for both parade and the previous night is understandable very much :-) She utililised her free ride to US...or gone to make some quick bucks...what else????

Its shocking to hear this news since Bipasha is very proffessinal lady and she has her own self respect as she will neither joke or full around. Its a shamefull act on part of local organiser to stop her while speaking. Even though she does not complaint to Police the local authorities have to go to the root and find out the fact and the guilty should be punished. This incident is a very usual one in US & UK.

these were only the people like you who may have treated her in that way !! have you ever seen Kalyug movie.Man!! that is the reality of our society. we cant see beyond what appers. if bipasha is doing all this because she feels good with all these then she must not be having any objection on what happened to her.

you people have a corrupt mind who always finds the ways to speak against women..

Firstly,I do not subscribe to the views thar she was harresed because a sultry siren like her does not command any respect according to me but is prone to harass other people PLUS throw tantrums for no reasons. If she did go to the programme after trying to be unaccesable & behind walls then she should not be paid or penalised heavily for comming late & spoiling a respectable programme of the organisers 4 which so much time, money & energy expended ; in which special dignateries were invited & present there.

Acharya, I find your view-point simply disgusting. Are you saying that just because Bipasha is an actress anyone is free to harass her? So basically, whether a woman is allowed her dignity or not depends on her profession, is it?

For your benefit, let me repeat this very basic rule in human soceity - Harassing any one is NOT RIGHT. It does not matter who the victim is. Harassing is NOT RIGHT. Period

Really, are you thinking with your brain?

Dear fellow national, who told you that bipasha was abused by "white brothers"??
This event was organized by the local indian community and it is very unlikely that the ppl involved in this harrasment would be non-indians. Most of the organizers(even the ones who tried to stop her from speaking out publicly are indians - not whites).

Im inclined to believe this too, Im sure she wouldve tried to throw her "Im-so-talented" tantrums at people who would/should not be giving two hoots about her. I dont think its racist to think that way. Indians just dont know how some of their illustrious countrymen/women behave at the airport. Some of them should be barred from entry just on clothes and stink. Thats true too. There are others who stink and sweat but subcontinent people have elevated it to an art. Then they are others who are on phones and start rattling off in their native languages which at best sound like a collection of grunts and belches. There are moments and its to be experienced rather than written as most reading something like this would brand me anti national, it doesnt hide the fact any less though.

Just because she is a sultry actress and a model, that gives you the right to talk bad about her. Were you present there, have you met Ms. Basu, on what basis do you make such an assumption. It is because of people like u and I am sure u are a 'man' that women do not come out and talk about physical abuse on them, because u will point a finger at her and say that she did not have a good character. Neither you nor I were there, so even if it is a democractic country, keep your lowly and useless thoughts to urself.
