The movie is not at all up to the mark..As it was much hyped there is nothing in movie except watching Mr Bachan,Abhishek. ShaRukh,Rani,Pretiy are Just waste... Moreover movie is tooooo long , dosn't have grip at all. Only taking BIG star cast,Big Sets dosn't make movie work..this Mr KARAN JOHAR has to understand... IT IS JUST WASTE OF TIME.... Only Abhishek,Mr Bachan Sequences in Movie is good otherwise everything is just a waste...
Kank is a very well made movie. Excellent script. The movie potrays a very realistic picture of our modern society. The only short comming of this film was that it was way too much lengthy.The so called conservative class of India as well as abroad might not agree with this movie as they want to stick to their delapidated views but people who have a broader outlook and can think in a logical way will definitely love this movie. Kudos to Karan Johar.
a superb movie in every department. a courageous attempt on karan's part to bring out in the open a true picture of most marriages. every single film where the woman has been in love before and married to another man due to circumstances, i have hoped that she would choose to go to her love, but our so-called conservatives have never had the guts to let a woman choose love over bondage. congrats karan for showing the way. srk is superb in an author-backed role and looks like a million bucks. whats the fuss about the film being long? it is such a beautiful film, i wished it wouldnt end.
After a long time I went to a movie theatre here in Chicago to watch a hindi movie. Usually I rent movies and fast forward quite often, so it was quite a shock to be sitting thru a 3 hour movie, a movie that surely could be condensed to a 2 hour movie. I thought the direction was good and the movie interesting. Did not like Amitabh coverting with prostitutes, I don't think that type of morality will go well in the US. The other thing I wish the director had done was to show SRK visiting a temple here in the US, after all if he can show a hindu (Rani Mukherjee) visiting a church and making the sign or a cross, why not show a christian visting one of our beautiful & magnificient temples? SRK in real life is married to a hindu and she has kept her religion, why not show the Indian way?
KANK is a poor effort from Karan Johar. The main highlights of the movie are a confused director, senseless story,poor script,over dose of over acting & Karans immatrity with which he handled such a sensitive subject.The person who himself does not believe in the institution of marriage actually made a film on itthats strange!He himself is confused so as what to show on screen?Otherwise what reasons did Maya had to look out for love outside her marriage when she had the most adorable husband in the world who never mentioned about kids,who was always willing to make his marriage work?Dev Saran a man with a weak character,who never really had a bond with his son, who was self centered,insecure just because his wife was doing better than him,hyper & cynical.Just because he had an accident which changed the course of his life,didnt give him a right to hurt his wife,son & mother.He didnt even think of his mother while leaving the house(who eventually lived with her bahu then).What for?He did all this for his love for another abnormal creature,Maya?The best dialogue was,Saza to yeh hai ke tum Dev ke saath zindagi guzaro gi,Maya!\\\"And how right it was!Kran must ask his audience.
Actually Kanak was the much awaited film that why it broke my heart. It was too boring and something intolerable for me. Story line was really boring and was well predicted in the begning what will be the end of the movie. I never expected this from Karan johar. No doubt Amitab was best , preity and rani were looking gorgeous clothes were too good but then you know all these are secondry things. Pls send my message to Karan and shah rukh that he broke my heart and plan to watch movie. Yes that little kid was too good in the movie. All over for me Movie is big flop.
i feel kank has the maturity n marital angst of the oeuvre of woody allen's movie's including verbal duelling between the life partners and an over the top act by sr ab aka everything u wanted to know about sex but were afraid to ask . the shades of grey have been shown starkly without any gloss . d pathos of srk desperately asking rani 2 watch a soccer game with him n then transported 2 a dream about attaining love n peace is so beautiful.
Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (KANK) is really a very good movie. All the characters have well performed in KANK. Especially Sharukh Khan's and Amitabh Bachan's performance have made KANK a very good film to enjoy. KANK is a story of today. It is shown that now what is relationship. KANK is really an interesting movie.
i saw kank and was not as disappointed as i expected to be . the candy floss king has dared to touch a new topic . not bad for a first time try . but very immature handling of the subjcet, too long and over acting by the main stars kills the film. i think rani should be called tragedy queen after this film
I will only say 'Alvida'. Disappointing, disgusting, lack of insight, horribly superficial, boring, drastic character portrayal....worse adjectives used for the movie, better for the movie.
